Value directs life
What you value the most in all your life? That is what directs all your life. It tells on you like a seven year-old tells on his older brother.
It’s no secret. The “tell” is there. See: MerWeb “the tell“- sign, indication. The signs are all over your life. Played cards lately?
“But his eyes
darted fractionally
to one side
as he said it …;
the classic liar’s tell.”
— Stephen King
The Bible tells on us also MerWeb. And our Great Big Omniscient God knows your heart to the core. It’s bare open for Him to read you like a book. Easy for Him. Obviously: He knows all things. (Think you can hide thoughts from Him?!)
Value something
Perceived value directs how you live. You really “go for it” when you value something. What you value most makes you what you are.
“…such a person
places a higher value
on something
other than God.”
– Ephesians 5:5
An astounding truth thing is that your tell is found somewhere on God’s Sin List – throughout the Bible. Also see: God’s list of unacceptables. Can’t undo that. You can’t just reclassify or redefine sin for the universe. It’s His universe!
What you most highly value? It shows by what you do. Are you earning wages of death? Whatcha doin’ lately?
The best thing you can do for your eternal soul is familiarize yourself with God’s Word about life in God’s Universe. Afterall – it’s His. We are not in charge here. So it behooves us to:
Acknowledge God
and consider Him as worth knowing
and paying attention to.
Sin is offensive to Holy God.
And God uses the Bible
to reveal what He thinks matters.
The Heavenly Decree – Romans 3:23 and Romans 6:23
There is a decree in Heaven against those who value sin.
Excerpt from: Prepare Your Eternity with great fear and trepidation
After all is said and done, there is a great divide between Heaven and Hell. And we enter one or the other realm by accepting or rejecting God’s loving offer to win against sin. Yes, it must be understood: There is a striking Heavenly decree against all humanity. It is made by the One in charge, so we better pay attention. You think?
Have you actually thought about this lately? Examining ourselves and listening to God is a timely exercise of precaution that may change the site of our eternal home. Our site in eternity will be either Hell with Satan, or Heaven with God.
* The wildly unpopular choice: Choosing Jesus… “Beating” God’s decree against us by bowing the knee and accepting Jesus as Savior.
* Overwhelming the most popular (by the numbers) – is the other choice: Just remain the same, stay the way you are. If you are cool with moving to the hot spot, fine. Be that way. I sure do advise against that destination.
Where will you check-in
when on that day you check-out

Ephesians 5:5
For be sure of this: no immoral, impure, or greedy person—for that one is [in effect] an idolater—has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God [for such a person places a higher value on something other than God].
Valuing it more than God…above God
Interesting, this being “in effect an idolater“. Can’t get any clearer. Scripture warns us who will never ever enter the Kingdom of God. The idolater will never get an inheritance from Jesus. Sorry thing.
You know you are an idolater by what you value Ephesians 5:5, by what you value the most…above God. Is there “something other than God” that you value higher? Are you in effect an idolater? Ephesians 5:5
You can turn that around. If you value getting to Heaven, where God reigns, then you are going to want to value Jesus who reigns there. Makes sense. That’s logical. The world is not logical, and thus loving the world never gives you the straight values of Jesus.
John 1:5
The Light shines on
in the darkness,
and the darkness
did not understand it
or overpower it
or appropriate it
or absorb it
[and is unreceptive to it].
Want to follow God
A big Scripture promise is that if you draw near to God – He will draw near to you. He blesses those who want it enough to go to Him:
James 4:8
Come close to God [with a contrite heart] and He will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; and purify your [unfaithful] hearts, you double-minded [people].
Jesus’ parable of the merchant and the pearl of great value illustrates wanting something enough to go in search of it.
Matthew 13:45-47 A Costly Pearl
45 “…the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant in search of fine pearls, 46 and upon finding a single pearl of great value, he went and sold all that he had and bought it.
The merchant valued fine pearls – so he traveled afar searching for them. When he found the “single pearl of great value” he went all-in to purchase it. He “went and sold all that he had and bought it“. In the same way, we must go all-in 100% for Jesus when we find Him. This is how we can enter His Kingdom.
The message of Christ is a better hope than any idolater has Hebrews 7:19. This “better hope” is the love of Jesus. It is in Christ “through which we now continually draw near to God.” I will forever be thankful that I have this better hope in Jesus.
Hebrews 7:19
(for the Law never made anything perfect); while on the other hand a better hope is introduced through which we now continually draw near to God.
When I count the many blessings of having “come close to God” years ago, I am impressed: His “better hope” is so much better than anything else the world has to offer.
Don’t be ignorant. Know what God is saying to us:
“30 So having overlooked the times of ignorance, God is now proclaiming to mankind that all people everywhere are to repent,
31 because He has set a day on which He will judge [a]the world in righteousness [b]through a Man whom He has appointed,
having furnished proof to all people [c]by raising Him from the dead.”
– Acts 17:30-31
What is it that matters more than God? Go in search for God in The Book to know what God thinks of you – and know what God wants. When you find Jesus you will see He is easy, light-handed and gentle. Jesus saved me long ago, and I am so glad He found me.
God is saying Matthew 11:29-30 to us all:
Repent and
take Jesus as your Savior.
If you do this
“you will find rest
(renewal, blessed quiet)
for your souls.”
He is gentle and kind.
If you are still non-commital, 1 John 1:5 says to you:
“This is the message [of God’s promised revelation] which we have heard from Him and now announce to you, that God is Light [He is holy, His message is truthful, He is perfect in righteousness], and in Him there is no darkness at all [no sin, no wickedness, no imperfection].”
If you have strayed a bit, Romans 12:2 says to you:
And do not be conformed to this world [any longer with its superficial values and customs], but be [a]transformed and progressively changed [as you mature spiritually] by the renewing of your mind [focusing on godly values and ethical attitudes], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His plan and purpose for you].

If you have come to value Christ the most, then “nothing else is important at all”, Paul says:
Philippians 3:7-9 EASY version
“Yes, now that I know Christ Jesus as my Lord, that is the most valuable thing. Nothing else is important at all. I have thrown everything else away, so that I can serve Christ. All those other things are like dirt to me. I think about them like that, so that I can have Christ.”

you will be saved;
10 for with the heart a person believes,
resulting in righteousness, and
with the mouth he confesses,
resulting in salvation.

God’ Simple Solution…to remove His righteous damnation
Are you still captive under God’s condemnation or freed from it – forever?
Oh how marvelous Excerpt: Marvelous grace. To a sinner, what else could be so marvelous? God’s grace, that “un-merited” bestowing of a blessing on me. Just because of Him. Just because He chooses to do so within His Heavenly legal system.
What marvelous grace of the damning God, who would go so far out of His way to “un-condemn” me, to “un-do” His “God damn”, His damnation of me, to save me forever for Himself. To love me – at all. That is the grace of God.
Who is this God? Excerpt: Most people believe there is a God. What about you?
Who is your god? Is He truly the God of the Universe? Or, have you just sort of ended-up with this made-up creation of yours that you call “my God”? Or maybe you’ve allowed some other people to sort of lure you into their version of god?
Who is this Jesus anyway? Excerpt: Really now – who is this Jesus of Nazareth? Many folk tragically follow countless Jesus men who are not really God, just fakers who cannot save them whatsoever — misRepresentations, little “antichrists”.
So, who was the real Jesus Christ anyway, the One they called Jesus the Messiah? The One who really can save us from our sin? Who is He? I want to follow THAT Jesus!

You want to save your sinful soul – your way. And damn the rest.
You yourself concocted your own way to get to God?
And you think that all you’ve done and what you do and feel and think and say – is right with God?….

“…the unrighteous will not inherit or have any share in the kingdom of God”
1 Corinthians 6:9-10
9 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit or have any share in the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; [a]neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate [by perversion], nor [b]those who participate in homosexuality, 10 nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers [whose words are used as weapons to abuse, insult, humiliate, intimidate, or slander], nor swindlers will inherit or have any share in the kingdom of God.
So does God ever say “What do you think, Joe? Jane, What should I do?”
Good news! God declassified certain sins!?

“I actively press on”. How ’bout you? Excerpt:
Are you actively making it a point in your daily life — to “take hold of” perfection? Or, are you okay with “normal”? Merely being a normal human is not what we are called-out to be.
Paul was a high achiever for Jesus. And he exhorts us all to be that.
Your inheritance by God is secured by God Excerpt: Our eternal status In the moment we get born again, Jesus saves us for all eternity Hebrews 10:14-17. How much better can it get!? This “blessing of salvation” Galatians 3:22 is our inheritance in Christ.
You’re either a livin’ forgiven or a livin’ dead

How do you want to arrive in Heaven? Excerpt: Yes, even the born again will be judged for how they lived-out their life on earth. We will all arrive there, but some …like as if their clothes are a smokin’, having lived badly. Saved, yes, but arriving with clothes a smokin’ from God’s displeasure (“…as [one who has barely escaped] through fire”).
But if any person’s work is burned up [by the test], he will suffer the loss [of his reward]; yet he himself will be saved, but only as [one who has barely escaped] through fire.
– 1 Corinthians 3:15
When a delusion is created as predicted in 2 Thessalonians 2
The “you will never enter” warning passages in Scripture Excerpt: God is love. Most definitely. Why else would He have come down to earth to be hung on a cruel cross in order to save us? He did not have to come here. But love….
God came here in love to warn us to follow Him only. In fact, He loved us so much John 3:13-18 that He wrote (as in: divinely inspired His writers) dire warnings about His coming judgement, and warned several times why it is “you will never enter” Matthew 18:3.
9 Do you not know

What knowing the Bible does for you
What happens when you do not know what the Bible says on a matter
Why the Bible Excerpt: The Bible is like no other book. Have you read it lately? It was put together by God to communicate Himself to us. He did this through prophets separated by hundreds of miles, over the course of hundreds of years.
Bible predictions are accurate. Many already came true, and many are “in-the-works”. Jesus alone fulfilled over 300 of them. The Bible’s end times predictions now read like current events!
The Bible is the standard for Christian thought and practice. Not me. Not you.
The Bible is “able to give you the wisdom that leads to salvation”
What God thinks you are…what He thinks of you
What God wants…He tells us very clearly Excerpt:
The Standard is set by God – I am frightened by the standard set by God for entrance into His Kingdom, into His Family. “Few there be that find it” Matthew 7:13-14 KJV.
It is no small thing to be forgiven by God, accepted by God, made a child of God, to finally become a member of God’s family. Salvation by Almighty God is done by Him as we give Him our all.
Being 100% given-over to Jesus
How to live on Christ – by Harriet Beecher Stowe …published by the Massachusetts Sabbath School Society in 1847. Excerpt: They may be Christians,
and their sad and disheartened endeavors may be very precious in the eyes of Him who will not break even a bruised reed; but while their whole life is a constant conflict of a sense of obligation and duty with an ever rebellious heart, they may be persuaded that they do not yet understand the terms on which their Saviour would have them live with him; nor the perfect ‘freedom of the sons of God.’
There is such a way of living with, or in Christ, that watchfulness, prayer, devotion, patience, gentleness, meekness, become so many sweet and spontaneous impulses, instead of labored acquisitions, alternately the subjects of hope and of despair; and this is true freedom.
Go to God for Salvation and for His strength for living
No bits and pieces…God wants your all – or do you think He is okay with left-overs, a bit of this and that of you?
Claiming a sin as – God’s will for you
Accepting all that Jesus Christ is and does
Pray to accept Jesus as-is… all He is, all He said, all He did

“All Scripture
is breathed out by God

for reproof, for correction,
and for training in righteousness,

What it means to walk in the Light, not in Darkness
Jesus Himself said See in one link:
John 8:12
“[a]I am the Light of the world. He who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life.”
1 John 1:5
5 This is the message [of God’s promised revelation] which we have heard from Him and now announce to you, that God is Light [He is holy, His message is truthful, He is perfect in righteousness], and in Him there is no darkness at all [no sin, no wickedness, no imperfection].
How do I get to Heaven?…getting to Heaven
“I give them eternal life” – John 10:27-30
Withholding obedience Excerpt:
The saving grace of God is so totally, awesomely immense! But it is limited. It is not all-accepting, indiscriminately saying to all comers: “Welcome. Enter into My Kingdom”.
God has limited His grace of salvation to be effective ONLY for those who are sincere in heart. God only saves those who truly repent of their sin, those who actually turn away from their sin, those who truly receive Jesus as God and Lord of their life, those who truly follow Him.
In the original Greek the word for “receive”, as in the prayer – “I receive you Jesus as my Lord and Savior”) is Paralambano. It means “not to withhold obedience“. It means “to join to one’s self”.
Getting to Heaven is not a religious thing

Withholding Obedience Excerpt: In the original Greek the word for “receive”, as in the prayer – “I receive you Jesus as my Lord and Savior”) is Paralambano. It means “not to withhold obedience“. It means “to join to one’s self”. 2
There is a lot of vagueness in many of our English terms. But in the Greek, when you “receive” Jesus as Lord and Savior, you join yourself to Jesus; you do not withhold your obedience to Him, but rather: you follow Him wholeheartedly.
Followance always comes after getting saved
