Have you ever thought of this?
God is the author of “logic”
Logic is of God
Logic is one of the realities God has established. So, because He is God (and we are not) it behooves us to make the effort to think like God Almighty – and get on His side. Who would not want to be? Well, there are some….
Relying on our own thinking often will get us into the illogical. And that’s not good. Follow what’s not logical?! God did not create “illogical”.
Salvation is logical
Logic is intrinsic to God’s nature. And thus we see His logic in His offer of Salvation. It is absolutely logical for God to say to us:
To be acceptable to Me,
and be granted entrance to My Holy Heaven,
you must
accept Jesus as-is…
nothing added, nothing taken out.
But really. You who have re-thunk re-imagined Jesus. You who have mixed in your thinkin’ and a’hopin’. You who argue with Jesus, contradict Jesus, and deny Him. Is yours a sound doctrine that Jesus will approve?
Recall that God thought a lot more about “salvation” than you ever had time to. And He settled the matter Himself. It’s His Place. Really think He’s going to ask you for advice on the subject?
We can’t go adding or taking away from what Jesus requires for salvation…and still expect Him to save our soul. What on earth are you thinking?
Change what He taught? Well then, you’ve stepped into the illogical. With any change – you have stepped away from God. Slip-sliding away. That will never work. Logic explains this useless faith.
God knows you well
God knows your thinking absolutely MerWeb: completely or totally. He knows all your thoughts, all your aspirations, all your worldview.
So when you come to Him in confession for salvation, you must Luke 10:27 love and follow Him absolutely…. Not sinlessly, but “all in“.
We begin our walk with Christ as new borns, then toddlers. We take baby steps, fall, and get up again, and again. And grow. Little by little we become more and more…like Christ. We walk in the Light, not in Darkness.
Love and Follow

…all your heart, all your soul, all your strength, all your mind
and love “your neighbor as yourself”

Love God with all
Jesus requires His Way: Turn from sin – Turn to Jesus. Abandon sin and love Him with all you got. Anything less is, well, incomplete faith, exactly useless.
By nature God is extreme to the nth degree. And so is His salvation. It is totally logical that God requires total submission. We opt-in 100%, and grow to be more and more like Christ.
Hebrews 12:2
[looking away from all that will distract us and] focusing our eyes on Jesus, who is the Author and Perfecter of faith [the first incentive for our belief and the One who brings our faith to maturity], who for the joy [of accomplishing the goal] set before Him endured the cross, disregarding the shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God [revealing His deity, His authority, and the completion of His work].
Practicing Sin
There is, of course, “room for sin” for the Christian in this Temp world. His forgiveness covers them. Like Paul, we aren’t there yet. We must press on.
But there is no room for allowance for “the practice of sin”. There is a humongous difference.
Practicing sin indicates you are not following Christ. See:
Consenting to God’s call to repentance does not require a detailed accounting of all your sins. It’s not like:
Satire:
What! You forgot one?
Well now, THAT is not forgiven! – NOT.
It’s an allegiance issue – this “practice of sin“. God knows your heart is holding back, if you are. No real repentance was happening, if you were not sincere and honest.
Who are you allied with?
Are you going to follow Jesus – or your apostate friends and church…acting on misinterpretations of Scripture?
Are you going to follow Jesus – or merely “like Jesus” and love the world?
Are you going to follow Jesus – or one of the myriad religions and philosophies that have rejected Jesus?
Are you going to follow Jesus – or choose bits and pieces and mix them up to for your own thinking?
He knows whether you are being sincere and truthful. It’s a simple prayer – but a momentous decision. Just call out to Him in confession and repentance. Accept Him and His offer of salvation.
This verse is another example of God’s logic of “if…then.” God is saying, basically – “If we… then He will forgive….”
1 John 1:9
If we [freely] admit that we have sinned and confess our sins, He is faithful and just [true to His own nature and promises], and will forgive our sins and cleanse us continually from all unrighteousness [our wrongdoing, everything not in conformity with His will and purpose].
The Way we are to love God is a distinctive love. The “believe in Me” is a distinctive believing. It’s not what the willy nillie world requires. See it here: Deuteronomy 6:5, Luke 10:27, Mark 12:28-31. We must come to Him with all, and love Him with all.
God is asking us to personally receive Him as Savior and Lord. Very simply, He says:
Repent now. There is no magic formula or speech. Just speak your heart to Me, sincerely and truthfully. I can hear your voice. I know your most intimate thoughts.
In this day of many falling away from the true faith, it behooves us to be very careful who we follow. Jesus is logical. Follow Jesus.
Jesus is saying, basically
Direct your heart to Me in prayer — something like this:
Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner.
I believe you came down from heaven
to die on a cross to save me.
In this moment right this second,
I turn away from all my sin: I reject it all.
And I ask that You will declare me,
“Forgiven forever!”
I don’t know much about You,
but I am asking You:
Please welcome me into your Kingdom
right here right now, here on earth
for as long as You give me life –
and take me to be with You when I die.
I believe in You. I want to follow You.
Help me. Give me the strength to follow You.
Thank you for forgiving me
of all the bad in me.
Thank you for making me brand new inside.
My hope is in you, Jesus.
Oh my God, Jesus, thank You.
Thank You. Thank You, God.

It is the most scariest thing on earth ever the biggest big thing – to think you might miss-out on the great banquet in Heaven. Heaven is for those who have followed Jesus while on earth. Pray to accept Jesus as He really is… all He is, all He said, all He did.

Oh how marvelous Excerpt: Marvelous grace. To a sinner, what else could be so marvelous? God’s grace, that “un-merited” bestowing of a blessing on me. Just because of Him. Just because He chooses to do so within His Heavenly legal system.
What marvelous grace of the damning God, who would go so far out of His way to “un-condemn” me, to “un-do” His “God damn”, His damnation of me, to save me forever for Himself. To love me – at all. That is the grace of God.

He’s changing me over time. I’m much different now than I was 73 years ago! Ask my wife. She’s been with me for 51 years.
I’m a stand up guy meaning. I’m naturally prone to disobey Romans 7:15, buck the tide, stand my ground, and do my own thing. God is still teaching me Philippians 2:3 to keep tight reins over my wild and crazy stallion heart.

All that to say: There is nothing more important to me than relating well with God. Who but you oh Lord?.

* Fidelity in Marriage (Jesus is 100% against sex outside of marriage – adultery, pre-marital sex, “dating sex”)
* Freedom to worship Him; Freedom to not fear being arrested for going to church
* Freedom from oppression and persecution
* And many more issues were taught by Jesus, but they require discussing and dissecting to list them here….
Followers & Rejectors
There are only two types of “believers” in the world:(1) Followers – those who act on the words of Jesus, and
(2) Rejectors – those who do not do the words of Jesus. Faith without works is dead. As Jesus commented — you really don’t want to be a stupid builder when it comes to building-out your life.
