We know from Scripture that Satan is the big accuser of those who follow Jesus. He is at it all the time. Satan works at making us fail. We must beware. 1
Satan cannot get inside the believer. Ever. He cannot be physically “in my head”. After all – God the Holy Spirit is there!
But he can oppress individuals, wage campaigns of oppression to tear down our faith, work at spoiling our confidence in Jesus. He wants to rob our joy, rob our peace, take away our peaceful easy feeling. Satan wants to wear us down to where we let sin dominate us. God says, Don’t let it.
We’ve all felt that tearing-me-down syndrome, I suppose, but identifying what it is…will help us resist the pressures. Satan is against us, but God is stronger – and He is in our soul!
We must gird up our mind and be ready for “the wiles of the Devil” – “stand up against all the schemes and the strategies and the deceits of the devil”. Scripture gives us the how to gird up:
Ephesians 6:11
Put on the full armor of God [for His precepts are like the splendid armor of a heavily-armed soldier], so that you may be able to [successfully] stand up against all the schemes and the strategies and the deceits of the devil.
That feeling of having a demon “inside my head” is sometimes true of unbelievers. But, if the Holy Spirit has taken-up residence in you, know that God does not share space with Satan. Satan can never get physically inside your head.
Speak Bible…do you know Bible well enough to “speak Bible”?
I am safe from Satan and his demons. I need not fear them. Satan needs permission to attack me.
Satan is not in my mind. When I am pressured and getting down and accused, I speak Bible with self-talk prayer.
These two verses here are good truth to help us stand up against tough times. There are many who will not have any share in the kingdom of God…
1 Corinthians 6:11 “And such were some of you [before you believed]. But you were washed [by the atoning sacrifice of Christ], you were sanctified [set apart for God, and made holy], you were justified [declared free of guilt] in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the [Holy] Spirit of our God [the source of the believer’s new life and changed behavior].”
1 John 4:4
Little children (believers, dear ones), you are of God and you belong to Him and have [already] overcome them [the agents of the antichrist]; because He who is in you is greater than he (Satan) who is in the world [of sinful mankind].
Now I belong to Jesus, and He is the One who gives me strength. I know I have sinned, but Jesus forgives repentant sinners. God does not hold grudges when I sin. God forgives.
Not inside me
Satan can influence what I think – but he does it from outside my body. He is not “in me”. I can allow influences to temp me. I can get close to Satan’s things to bring thoughts to me, to discourage me. How stupid it that!
I can put myself in harms way, so-to-speak, by staying close to evil, by allowing bad habits to grow, by not fleeing youthful lusts 2 Timothy 2:22, by delving into pornography, by letting sin reign.
By way of the influences of the enemies of my soul – your enemies also – I can fail God.

Scripture warns us not to consult the Devil and his witches, diviners, “soothsayers”, fortune tellers, tarot card readers, Ouija boards, and such and similar: Necromancy.
King Saul of Israel, back in the day, did. 1 Samuel 28:7-20.
God was displeased. God still shows His displeasure dramatically – even today
1 Chronicles 10:13-14
So Saul died for his trespass which he committed against the Lord, for his failure to keep the word of the Lord; and also because he consulted a medium [regarding a spirit of the dead], to inquire of her, and did not inquire of the Lord [instead]. Therefore the Lord killed him and turned the kingdom over to David the son of Jesse.
Don’t mess with God and His warnings. Better to turn to God.
My one defense… Jesus’ open empty tomb
My one defense when Satan accuses me of sin? I know that I know I am saved. For me: all is forgiven forever. I acknowledge that God’s humongous grace and sheer mercy have graciously provided me with His Forgiveness for all my sins. All of them. Do you know His forgiveness?
And…I continue to pursue God. I reset my mind. “I actively press on.” How ’bout you?
Excerpt from: I’m not what he says I am
What Satan says
Satan is the big accuser. Jesus Himself calls Satan a liar and deceiver.
John 8:4
“You are of your father the devil, and it is your will to practice the desires [which are characteristic] of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks what is natural to him, for he is a liar and the father of lies and half-truths.”
I refuse to accept Satan’s lying accusations against me. I refuse his false depiction of me. I am not what he says I am.
I am what God says I am.
God does not accuse me. God lends a helping hand.
God says I am a brand new creature — for I am in Christ. I am not the sum total of all my sins. Why? Because all my sins are gone gone gone gone.
Because God Himself has declared me clean, cleansed by His judicial court. If (since) God has removed my sin “as far as the East is from the West…” then who but the Accuser would bring it up again, and attempt to lure me back to that old self? Do you?
I trust in what God has said. And so, I do not believe the Accuser Zechariah 3:1. I don’t get down and confused. I’m not what he says I am. I’m what God has said. I am on the other side of the spectrum: I am well in my soul Philippians 3:12-16… because I confess my sins and repent of them.

What The Devil Does Excerpt:
Satan is alive and real, and lives on planet earth in a dimension we cannot see. He is a fallen angel. And he is total evil. To get a small glimpse of what Satan is like, it’s important to realize…
Satan is the big accuser. Jesus Himself calls Satan a liar and deceiver. I refuse to accept Satan’s lying accusations against me. I refuse his false depiction of me. I am not what he says I am. I am…
John 8:44 AMP
4 You are of your father the devil, and it is your will to practice the desires [which are characteristic] of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks what is natural to him, for he is a liar and the father of lies and half-truths.
I am enough Excerpt: In Christ I am enough. I’ve got it all, nothing needed, nothing missing. I am ready, steady and able because God Himself made me more than human, after all.
I have everything needed, in me, to live a godly life — because of the power of God in me… since that moment in time that God Himself made me a brand new creature inside. Same outside, new inside, for now, in my inner soul, the Holy Spirit resides in me in power.
That is what happens to those who truly accept Jesus as their Savior.
I am well in my soul Philippians 3:12-16
An unguarded life
No matter who you be… you are unwise to be that Dumbass Lamb “alone in green meadows surrounded by giant forests where wolves lurk”. Guard your life.
Satan had it.2 Israel had it.3 Uzziah had it. 4 Peter warned against it. 5
Arrogance and pride. So easy to see in others. So difficult to see in myself: pride in one’s self.
Conform or resist the pressures…We’ve all felt that, I suppose, but naming what it is…will help us
Gird up your mind and be ready…don’t be taken by surprise when troubles arise.
I live with confidence…in Jesus.
I’ve to that joy…He wants to rob it.
I’ve got that peace that passes understanding…Satan wants to rob our peace

16 Happenings On Your Spiritual Journey Excerpt: Many never realize the power of their changed life in Christ. We must choose to follow Him in obedience, or we wallow in our fleshly desires. (See Galatians 5:19-26.)
Mysteriously, the Creator God Himself, in the form of the Holy Spirit, now resides somehow inside my being. Totally amazing! He is empowering me to be able now to live for Him instead of for myself. As I choose to submit myself (my volition), He empowers.

Footnotes
- What the Devil does is – he conspires to ruin you for God. To the level that God permits, Satan will bring all manner of evil against you. But you don’t have to be ruined.
If we have accepted Christ (like the thief on the cross) we are powerful! Huge! Why? Because…
- We are not merely human. We have been born-again, made brand new creatures in Christ.
- We have the Spirit, God Himself, always in our body. Totally amazing truth.
- Plus, on assignment to us, we have numerous bodyguards, God’s loyal angels, in every moment of every hour – standing watch over us from their unseen dimension. They make sure only God’s will is done with us.
- And, we have God’s promises that put parameters of protection against the angelic powers of the Evil One.
I don’t understand it, but that’s the way it really is. There is an unseen dimension, inside and outside… in us and around us: God is inside the believer, and His angels are all around us, on the outside. So we need not fear. Just trust and obey. His Spirit is leading.
- Isaiah 14:12-15.
- 1 Chronicles 21:7 Now God was displeased with this act [of arrogance and pride], and He struck Israel.
- 2 Chronicles 26:16 But when Uzziah became strong, he became so proud [of himself and his accomplishments] that he acted corruptly, and he was unfaithful and sinned against the Lord his God.
- 1 Peter 5:6 Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God [set aside self-righteous pride], so that He may exalt you [to a place of honor in His service] at the appropriate time.
