All Good
When you find salvation in Christ you find the fountain of youth. You find everlasting life (John 3:14-19) with all that is good in God: Heaven. Wow.
Not Good
The opposite of course, if you stick with what you are and what you have naturally (1 Corinthians 15:50-53) is: you end up with “all that is not good” (Isaiah 65:2): Hell.
Salvation by Jesus, according to Jesus, requires “new birth”, referred to by Jesus as “you must be born again“. Let’s look at some 16 things that happen in your spiritual journey as you come to Jesus.
16 Happenings On Your Journey
*These sixteen details of your spiritual journey
can be found in specific verses in Ephesians 1 …and elsewhere
What happens in you journey to “get saved”?
You hear the truth
First thing in your journey to Jesus, Paul says, is – you’ve got to hear it! Of course. You hear the truth (Romans 10:17), which is the “good news” – the “Gospel of Jesus Christ“, and then of a sudden faith dawns, and you have what is needed to actually “believe in Him“. (But you are not saved yet!)
8 For it is by grace [God’s remarkable compassion and favor drawing you to Christ] that you have been saved [actually delivered from judgment and given eternal life] through faith. And this [salvation] is not of yourselves [not through your own effort], but it is the [undeserved, gracious] gift of God;
– Ephesians 2:8
this [salvation]
is not of yourselves
[not through your own effort]
You are not saved by earning it. Can’t be good enough. Salvation is by faith and faith alone – in Jesus.
verse 13 In Him, you also, when you heard the word of truth, the good news of your salvation, and [as a result] believed in Him, were stamped with the seal of the promised Holy Spirit [the One promised by Christ] as owned and protected [by God]. – Ephesians 1:verse 13
This is how it happens for most people: There was a time you knew nothing…. God draws us to Himself even before we are interested in Him.
Isaiah put it this way, quoted in Romans 10:20:
20 Then Isaiah is very bold and says,
“I have been found by those who did not seek Me;
I have shown Myself to those who did not [consciously] ask for Me.”
Maybe you were not looking for God, nor asking for God. But then someone told you, or you read about Him. And all that time, according to the Bible, the Holy Spirit was active in you, convicting you of sin and of your need for a Savior (John 16:8-11).

“17 So faith comes from hearing
[what is told], and
what is heard comes by
the [preaching
of the] message
concerning Christ.”
– Romans 10: verse 17
Your faith begins
Second event is: you suddenly sense an inkling [merriam-webster] of faith where before you had none.
I have faith in Jesus. What about you? Where have you put yours?
“faith in the Lord Jesus”
– Ephesians 1:verse 15
See: Where does faith come from? Source: gotquestions.org
You personally choose Jesus as Lord
Third thing, and most amazing is: actually getting born again.
Personally make that choice
First you hear it, then you personally make that choice to place your faith in Him. It is by grace – through faith… that you are saved.
You heard and believed in Him
And so then, you pray to God to save you from His condemnation. It is that moment…
“when you heard
the word of truth,
the good news
of your salvation,
and [as a result]
believed in Him
– Ephesians 1:verse 13
You approach Jesus and accept Jesus with sincerity and truth. You pray and ask Him to be your Savior. He redeems you (Ephesians 1:verse 5) — in that moment.
See: That Moment In Time
He makes you His own, and you make Him your Lord. And in that instant — you are made a true child of the King!
13 For “whoever calls
on the name of the Lord
[in prayer]
will be saved.”
– Romans 10:13 1
A Word of Warning
Outward Religion and Fake Faith
To accept anything less than “all that Jesus Christ is and does“… is to stop short of getting saved. God requires all, not just pieces of us.
Are you holding-back on God? Or: Are you 100% sold-out to the true Jesus?

Are you one of those that says one thing and does another?
- Do you say “I’m a Christian” but you live like …something else?
- Do you say “Yah, I know I’m not living like I know Jesus would like me to”?
- Do you acknowledge the dissidence [merriam-webster] between your “wanna-be” and your whatch-ya-be?
- Do you vote for a hell of a lot of things Jesus never would have voted for?
- Does your lifestyle match-up with Jesus’s?
- Does your worldview look anything close to Jesus’s?
- Are there whole sections of Bible you’ve tossed-out and replaced with your own brand of thinking?
- Have you bothered to look at the Bible to know it?
- Have you looked at the Bible to see how distant you are from Jesus’s biblical statements and standards?

“put
our confidence
in Him
as our Lord and Savior”
– Ephesians 1:verse 12
God forgives all wrongdoings of all repentant sinners, no exception
You are instantly saved
Fourth. As with the Thief on the Cross hanging beside Jesus – salvation is instant. God immediately, permanently redeems the repentant sinner. It is declared about us in Heaven – “Forgiven“. And the angels rejoice when a sinner is saved!
“we have redemption [that is, our deliverance and salvation] through His blood, [which paid the penalty for our sin and resulted in] the forgiveness and complete pardon of our sin, in accordance with the riches of His grace 8 which He lavished on us.”
– Ephesians 1:verse 5
We know this is God’s will. Absolutely all penalties are paid up as we freely receive His “complete pardon” of all sins — according to “the riches of His grace”. We are set free. Hallelujah!
You are made brand new
Fifth. The instant you are saved, the Holy Spirit makes you a brand new creature, and comes into you to reside in you — inside your insides, in your spirit. And He has promised to never leave you nor forsake you. Ever.
Never again will you be alone. He promised,
“I will never desert you,
nor will I ever abandon you”
– Hebrews 13:5
That also means you won’t die alone. Because of this I live with confidence, even in these sick, troubled days.
He is “the seal” of approval showing all the heavens that you are “owned and protected” (like as in: all the demons know!). The Holy Spirit is inside you at all times.
That is why no evil demon can enter you and possess you! His Holiness will not allow that to happen. Imagine God in you and a demon sharing the throne of your life!? Not a chance. In Hell maybe, but not in a child of God.
“Greater is He
that is in you,
than he
that is in the world”
– 1 John 4:4 NASB
“13 In Him, you also, when you heard the word of truth, the good news of your salvation, and [as a result] believed in Him, were stamped with the seal of the promised Holy Spirit [the One promised by Christ] as owned and protected [by God].
– Ephesians 1:verse 13
This means:
No stamp – no seal – no Savior – no salvation – never were born again – still bound for Hell.
14 The Spirit is the [e]guarantee [the first installment, the pledge, a foretaste] of our inheritance until the redemption of God’s own [purchased] possession [His believers], to the praise of His glory.
– Ephesians 1:verse 14
You get all you need for Heaven
Sixth
In that moment of getting saved – you are spiritually blessed by God “with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms in Christ” (Ephesians 1:3).
__________________
“…the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms in Christ”
– Ephesians 1:verse 3.
__________________
“For His divine power has bestowed on us [absolutely] everything necessary for [a dynamic spiritual] life and godliness, through [a]true and personal knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence.”
With this blessing of salvation and the seal of His Spirit — there is nothing more needed spiritually – in the sense that: He gave you all that you need in that moment of salvation. God Himself gives you all you need for Heaven – without some apostate apostle or prophet or Catholic priest intervening.
There is nothing more that we need to be given — in order to succeed as a follower of Jesus. Well — except for us to really follow Him, actually, as Jesus said, Do it.
“…what do I need to do to get eternal life?”
“…That you love the Lord your God
with all your passion and prayer and muscle and intelligence—
and that you love your neighbor as well as you do yourself.”
– Luke 10:25-29
We are made complete in Him at salvation, with all of His Holy Spirit in us – in that moment.
Don’t let some false teacher/preacher sell you on “a second blessing”. There is no “second blessing” mentioned in Scripture. There is no need to “get filled with the Spirit” the way he/she tells you, nor that you need to speak in tongues, etc.
Nope. I am enough. You are enough as you are in Jesus! You’ve been saved, sealed – and “blessed …with every spiritual blessing….” Is the Holy Spirit in you? (Of course He is, IF you were truly saved.)
Then He is all there. He is not a liquid – to need to be refilled. What is needed is more of you, not more of the Holy Spirit. More of you yielded to Him, more submission, more obedience, more dedication.
17 [I always pray] that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may grant you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation [that gives you a deep and personal and intimate insight] into the true knowledge of Him [for we know the Father through the Son].
– Ephesians 1:17
What does this “spirit of wisdom and of revelation” give you? It “gives you a deep and personal and intimate insight] into the true knowledge of Him….”
A misinterpretation often taught today:
There is a catch phrase that has been created by false teachers. It is in Ephesians 1:17: “a spirit of wisdom and of revelation”. Some have taken off with this – and gone totally haywire (as in: wrong, balmy, barmy, bats, batty, bonkers, awry, buggy, cracked, crackers and daft – Google).
They [NAR types] twist the phrase, creating the catch phrase “a spirit of wisdom and of revelation”, misrepresenting Paul’s meaning. Paul teaches that this should be what every believer experiences in every-day-life, as we earnestly seek to know Him better.
It is not a special gift. The church does not need prophets and apostles, teachers and special pew sitters to be gifted with “a spirit of wisdom” and get new revelations directly from God! That is not what Paul meant.
False teachers set themselves up as essential workers, elder welders of new revelations that others cannot get. They will say verse 17 is talking about “getting a new revelation from God”. This of course is false. It is a lie they teach in order to make them able to get any message they want to get from God. They invent with their own imaginations.
We all can be gifted with “a spirit of wisdom and of revelation” as God sees fit to so gift us. And it’s not to have a new revelation.
NAR type leaders actually negate the wonder-working power of the Holy Spirit who is to teach us directly, and they (these false teachers) belittle the natural element of being a new creation with a desire to learn more, dig deep.
– Adaptation from Source: Growing into our natural new life in Christ.
Don’t be bamboozled by these NAR type teachings. God does not use prophets and apostles, teachers and special pew sitters to teach us their “hidden knowledge”. The knowledge was never lost or hidden. It all is right there in front of us, for all to see.
See: The Bethel Johnson’s Unbiblical Teachings
(sections 7 & 8:
7. Bethel claims they are reclaiming lost realms of God.
8. Unbiblical “revelations.)
What a scam — these false workers of God who are constantly making God speak, saying God gave them a new revelation or “words from the Lord”. In the Old Testament what they deserved were rocks on their heads – not accolades as they do in NAR churches nowadays.
See: | Growing into our natural new life in Christ – go to the sections “A misinterpretation often taught today” and “Natural new life”… to read more about this false teaching. |

| Do not attend apostate churches |
All the “born again” are His saints
Seventh thing
All the “born again” are His [a]saints (God’s people) [b] – as were those who were at Ephesus – “faithful and loyal and steadfast in Christ Jesus” (v1).
And thus, as His true children of God, we can be full of “Grace… and peace [inner calm and spiritual well-being] from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.” – Ephesians 1:verse 2.
We can enjoy spiritual well being as we mature in the faith. If we lack …grace, peace, inner calm, spiritual well-being from God — we can go to Him in prayer for help.
God will help change. We can soon have them — inside our insides.
See: | “The spirits of the righteous made perfect” |

The eyes of your heart can be enlightened
Eighth
“the eyes of your heart [the very center and core of your being] … enlightened [flooded with light by the Holy Spirit]” – Ephesians 1:verse 18
We all should pray for each other like this, as Paul said:
[I pray] that the eyes of your heart [the very center and core of your being] may be enlightened [flooded with light by the Holy Spirit], so that you will know and cherish the [f]hope [the divine guarantee, the confident expectation] to which He has called you, the riches of His glorious inheritance in the [g]saints (God’s people)
The Holy Spirit floods our inner core so that we “know and cherish the hope” that we have in Christ. We have been given a divine guarantee. Are you cherishing the thought?
We live in “confident expectation” because of this hope. We look confidently to the future when we will finally receive and experience together “the riches of His glorious inheritance“. Oh what a day that will be!
You are “set apart” for Jesus
Ninth thing
“that we would be holy [that is, consecrated, set apart for Him, purpose-driven] and blameless in His sight. – Ephesians 1:verse 4
When we get saved, we are “consecrated, set apart for Him” – which is what the term “holy” means. By God we are set apart from all sin: made holy in Christ. God sees us “positionally” as seated with Him in Heaven — already. As it says in Colossians:
3 For you died [to this world], and your [new, real] life is hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ, who is our life, [a]appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.
– Colossians 3:1-4
Our new life in Christ (now) “is hidden with Christ in God” (v3), wholly forgiven, holy by God. It’s like standing in a court and the judge declares you “Not Guilty”, clearing you legally of all wrong before his court. That is “positional holiness”.
See: 301 Things you are in Christ – by
Are you growing into a daily holiness in your life and practice?
See: | Being faithful, little by little |
| Being like Jesus |

| The Reality of Incompleteness on Earth |
In Christ you have an inheritance
Tenth Thing
“In Him also we have [d]received an inheritance [a destiny—we were claimed by God as His own], having been predestined (chosen, appointed beforehand) according to the purpose of Him who works everything in agreement with the counsel and design of His will” – Ephesians 1:verse 11
We already “have received an inheritance“, past tense. God claimed us “as His own”. Past tense. It’s like He adopted us into His forever family. Done. Hecho. Finito (Romans 8:37-39).
That is why you are secure in Him – and you will never ever lose your salvation – IF you were truly born again.
See: | What God secures – You cannot “lose” |
| Never again |
| The Moment of IF |
| The faith of “anything goes” |
Since before the foundation of the world (before Creation) God had a design for mankind. All your life (and before Creation) He has worked out “the counsel and design of His will” for you, specifically you, and all saints. You are no small speck in the universe – because God has designs for you.
THAT makes me intensely want to please Him in all I do. Not out of fear… but out of love for Him.
You are given deep and personal and intimate insights
Eleventh.
“a spirit of wisdom and of revelation [that gives you a deep and personal and intimate insight] into the true knowledge of Him [for we know the Father through the Son]” – Ephesians 1:verse 17
We start with baby faith, “child-like” faith, young in the faith, perhaps exuberant as a child at play. And then the Lord starts revealing more and more of who we are and what we really have in our faith. He helps us understand His insights.
But “a spirit of wisdom and of revelation” here in Ephesians is not anywhere indicated to be new revelations of heretofore unknown knowledge from God. Nowhere.
No Ordinary Epiphany
You could describe “a spirit of wisdom and of revelation”, as insights from God, as spiritual “epiphanies” (Collins) or a spirit-filled serendipity (Collins) — but certainly NOT a luck thing, or a “chance” thing (as the ordinary words indicate).
This intimate insight: “It’s a God nugget of learning that He helps us see. We gain insights into our faith as He reveals them, and we grow in wisdom. You might enlarge the term, and call it Spirit-laden serendipitous moments where the Spirit fills-in your knowledge. Godly epiphanies (NOT a “chance” thing, and certainly not a new revelation).
Revealing truth “Aha!” moments
That “Aha!” moment when the truth of God hits you between the ears. THAT’s a revelation moment, a “wisdom nugget of truth”. A dawning of understanding that slowly rises upon you. A “Wow!” fresh feeling – because you had never seen it that way before.
Or “the still, small voice of God” whispers. The “voice of God” is mentioned all over the Bible. See, for example: Hebrews 1:1. It’s not audible, but rather — is spoken in our spirit, from His Spirit.
There will be moments as we grow in faith through insights He gives us based in His Word, where sudden “realizations” dawn on us by His Spirit, astound our mind and bolster our faith.
Warnings about “listen“:
See all in one link or: Luke 6:47; Luke 8:18; Luke 8:21; John 6:45; 1 Corinthians 2:4; Colossians 3:6; Hebrews 5:11; James 1:22; James 1:25; 1 John 4:5; 1 Corinthians 8:2. This is insightful: Acts 16:14 – “the Lord opened her heart to pay attention and to respond to the things said by Paul.”)
We realize more and more….
Jump in and see for yourself.
Do you want just your own “think”, or “God’s think“? Don’t settle for limited thinking!
– Source: Why the Bible
As we listen to God, we grow, we gain insights which fill-in missing understandings.
Insights like:
- Like: this one in verse 18: in Christ we have a sure hope, a guaranteed hope, an unreasonably “confident expectation” of great things to come for us — because He has called us to this.
- Like: “you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God” – “The spirits of the righteous made perfect” Hebrews 12:22-24.
- Like: “we are convinced of better things concerning you, and of things that accompany salvation.” – Source: Hebrews 3:10; Hebrews 6:9.
- Like: “The wisdom from above is….” James 3:17.
The things of God are not understood by ordinary flesh-and-blood-only folk. Their spirit has not been made alive in Christ.
But the natural [unbelieving] man
does not accept the things
[the teachings and revelations]
of the Spirit of God,
for they are foolishness [absurd and illogical] to him; and he is incapable of understanding them, because they are spiritually discerned and appreciated, [and he is unqualified to judge spiritual matters].
– 1 Corinthians 2:14
50 Now I say this, believers, that flesh and blood cannot inherit nor be part of the kingdom of God; nor does the perishable (mortal) inherit the imperishable (immortal).
– 1 Corinthians 15:50
You must be reborn from above, born again — to understand the truths of God, “because they are spiritually discerned and appreciated”. That “wisdom nugget of truth” is not within the grasp of an unregenerate. The unborn-again “man of flesh” does not understand spiritual “epiphanies” or spirit-filled serendipities.
What comes with God’s enlightenment
I see these next three “things”, three details of our spiritual journey, as what comes with God’s enlightenment, His continual “spirit of wisdom and of revelation”. He gives each one of us – “wisdom” and a view into His Truth. He reveals bits and pieces of His truths as we are ready for them:
- the hope that grows in you (12th),
- the riches (13th),
- the spiritual power of His Spirit in us (14th),
- and more and more!
Hope grows in you
Twelfth Thing. Hope grows in you. He has called you to this.
I have hope. My hope is in Christ.
“know and cherish the [b]hope [the divine guarantee, the confident expectation] to which He has called you” – Ephesians 1:verse 18
You realize God’s riches more and more
Thirteenth. There is no…
* No richer state than citizenship in Heaven (Philippians 3:20, Ephesians 2:19, Psalm 87:1),
* No richer mindset than the rich mindset of God,
* No richer inheritance, (1 Peter 1:4; Acts 20:32; Romans 8:17; Galatians 3:22; Ephesians 1:11; Ephesians 1:14-18; Ephesians 5:5; Colossians 1:12; Colossians 3:24; Hebrews 5:9; Hebrews 9:15)
* No richer place to aspire to. See: | First Day In Heaven | Windows into Heaven | and Heaven. What’s it going to be like? |
“know
…the riches of
His glorious inheritance
in the saints
(God’s people)”
– Ephesians 1:verse 18
You have unlimited power inside
Fourteenth. When we become born again, He fills us with His Spirit – and in that instant we have inside of us unlimited power (2 Peter 1:3).
No human can give you that. Jesus Himself promised us the Spirit (John 14:16-17). When you receive Jesus, you repent and ask Him into your life — and the Holy Spirit comes in to reside inside your spirit.
“begin to know] what the immeasurable and unlimited and surpassing greatness of His [active, spiritual] power is in us who believe.” – Ephesians 1:verse 19
You have love for others
Fifteenth. 1 Corinthians 13. The love in us for others – is for “all God’s people“. We are all one human race. There is no logic for hate and racism.
“love for all God’s people”
– Ephesians 1:verse 15
Another Warning: See:

Racism is an evil to personally resist
You have endurance with your faith
Sixteenth Thing. Maintain endurance with your faith. Know that He holds you with His hand.
Throughout our new life in Christ – we look back periodically and see:
Yes! We have been “faithful and loyal and steadfast in Christ Jesus”. Not sinless, but faithful, loyal, obedient to Him, and unbending in our determination to live for Jesus no matter what.
Our daily practice of our faith should not let us be satisfied with a useless way of life.
We are not satisfied being useless and worthless.
-
- We don’t give it up.
- We give it our all.
- We endure through it all.
“Endurance to do the will of God” (Hebrews 10:36-39) is what the verifiably saved of God practices. We hold tight to Jesus. We hold tight to His promises – through to the end.
– Source: Endurance with your faith
“faithful and loyal and steadfast in Christ Jesus”
– Ephesians 1:verse 1
“Your life is a journey
you must travel
with a deep consciousness of God.
It cost God plenty
to get you out of
that dead-end,
empty-headed life
you grew up in.
He paid

you know.
He died
like an unblemished,
sacrificial lamb….”
– 1 Peter 1:18-21
The Message (MSG)
Be “of good courage and confident hope”
Those are 16 things that happen in our journey toward God and growing into our natural new life in Christ – as the Apostle Paul outlined them in Ephesians 1.
2 Corinthians 5:8 Amplified Bible
we are [as I was saying] of good courage
and confident hope,
and prefer rather to be absent from the body
and to be at home with the Lord.

Footnotes
- Romans 10:13-17
13 For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord [in prayer] will be saved.”
14 But how will people call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how will they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how will they hear without a preacher (messenger)? 15 And how will they preach unless they are commissioned and sent [for that purpose]? Just as it is written and forever remains written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news of good things!”
16 But they did not all pay attention to the good news [of salvation]; for Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed our report?” 17 So faith comes from hearing [what is told], and what is heard comes by the [preaching of the] message concerning Christ.
