“why you are wrong”

Do you know what the Bible says? What happens when you do not know?
If you do not know your Bible th0roughly… well, most assuredly then:
* You don’t know what God has communicated to us for our good.
* You don’t know God’s take on the matter at hand.
* You rely on your own smarts.
Trust me! You do NOT want to rely on your own smarts. Been there – done that! And I failed miserably.
God is so much bigger than we. Don’t miss what God has said to us for our own good. Don’t miss God’s Way to get through life safe and sane. Don’ rely on human understanding of things. That does not lead to godly living.
Know the Bible – Know the Truth
Know the Truth – Know God
“6 All Scripture is God-breathed [given by divine inspiration] and is profitable for instruction, for conviction [of sin], for correction [of error and restoration to obedience], for training in righteousness [learning to live in conformity to God’s will, both publicly and privately—behaving honorably with personal integrity and moral courage]; 17 so that the [a I.e. all believers whether man, woman, or child.]man of God may be complete and proficient, outfitted and thoroughly equipped for every good work.”
– 2 Timothy 3:16 (See context: 2 Timothy 3:15-17)
“Why you are wrong”
Not knowing Scripture is problematic. God has warned us multiple times in the Bible to learn of Him – or be a fool, like King Solomon’s Fool. The one who follows Jesus should do as is taught in 2 Timothy 2:15…
NCB
Make every effort to present yourself before God as one who is worthy of his approval, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, but who imparts the word of truth without any alteration.
TLB
Work hard so God can say to you, “Well done.” Be a good workman, one who does not need to be ashamed when God examines your work. Know what his Word says and means.
If we do not hone our thoughts on Scripture, on what do we base our thoughts and practice? We begin to think mistakenly. Who wants to live erroneously before God? I’m in-it to win-it!
God holds all knowledge and true wisdom. After all – He made everything that is! We must dig deep to know what is Truth.
How very few seek God. Some study the Bible to hear what God has to teach us, then argue with God when they do not like what He is saying. – Source: Arguing with God
If we do not think like God Almighty thinks…
If we do not know the Bible well, so then…
* we may reject Jesus and His one-off offer of eternal life. Now that is truly a big bummer.
“I give them eternal life”, Jesus said
* we may drift away from the faith
* we may discredit Jesus
* we may stumble like a drunk
* we may not tolerate others nor be biblical Excerpt: “These days it seems so few know what the Bible really says about being a Christian. Many think it does not matter what you think. They say: Follow whatever you prefer. Just call yourself Christian, and try to “be a little more Christian” every day….” – Source: Be a little more Christian
* we may discount the Old Testament as old hat…and become apostate
* we may not accept the truth that the Old Testament is still Truth for today
* we may easily stray from God’s Way
* we may become a wandering star pagan
* we may begin arguing with God and ultimately reject Jesus
* we may keep our sin and still think we are saved!
* we may not know we are actually an idolater
* we may end up where we really never wanted to be. There is a place… you know?
* we may not know what saves
* we may never understand that Christ secured our eternal home…IF He truly saved you
not knowing Scripture is problematic
Jesus said,
“Is this not why you are wrong, because you know neither the Scriptures [that teach the resurrection] nor the power of God [who is able to raise the dead]?
– Verse 24 of Mark 12:24-27
Don’t rely on your own smarts to get you through. Like the proverb says,
5 Trust in and rely confidently on the Lord with all your heart
And do not rely on your own insight or understanding.
6 [a] In all your ways know and acknowledge and recognize Him,
And He will make your paths straight and smooth [removing obstacles that block your way].
– Proverbs 3:5-6
The Bible really is “words from God”. Did you ever think of that? It’s true. He wanted to communicate with His creation — so, over a period of hundreds of years, He put together the Bible. It’s for us.
Because of a lack of Bible knowledge, we start to go off-course and begin deceiving ourselves. We must verify verify verify what is or is not of God. Like Jesus said:
“…you are greatly mistaken
and
you are deceiving yourselves!”
– Verse 27 of Mark 12:24-27
The easiest solution to ignorance and deception is to read the Bible for yourself. Be Berean with life.

Do you know what the Bible says? If we are to go to Heaven, we must know the message of God for us on earth. Makes sense to me.

Article is written with this text: Mark 12:24-27
24 Jesus said to them, “Is this not why you are wrong, because you know neither the Scriptures [that teach the resurrection] nor the power of God [who is able to raise the dead]? 25 For when they rise from the dead, they do not marry nor are they given in marriage, but are like angels in heaven. 26 But concerning the raising of the dead, have you not read in the book of Moses, in the passage about the burning bush, how God spoke to him, saying, ‘I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’? 27 He is not the God of the dead, but of the living; you are greatly mistaken and you are deceiving yourselves!” – Mark 12:24-27
Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord God Almighty
Discrediting Jesus Excerpt: Have you looked into the claims of Jesus and the evidences Jesus left for us? God’s wish is that all people come to Him. Have you accepted Him for who He is? Are you in on the only Way? Jesus! “Whosoever will may come”
Think about it. Have you strayed from the truth?
Denying Jesus? Excerpt: Maybe fake it like Nancy Pelosi, tolerate evil, or be one of the enlightened folks of Hebrews 6:4-5 and merely “like” Jesus.
Want it – to know it… God’s message to us
God is easy, light-handed, gentle
Luke 6:35
“But love [that is, unselfishly seek the best or higher good for] your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return; for your reward will be great (rich, abundant), and you will be sons of the Most High; because
He Himself is kind and gracious and good to the ungrateful and the wicked.“

Worldviews and the Battle for Meaning
Is Jesus’ Worldview – your worldview
Consider these biblical views: Voting Dichotomously, What Jesus Stands For, Which Jesus Do You Serve?, Following, Following Someone, Exposing a dichotomous heart, One Thing You Lack, Reconsider Your Life, A God Damn,
If your heart follows to the beat of
a different drum
than what the band of Jesus marches to;
if how you see the world
is not how Jesus see’s the world;
if you are FOR
what Jesus is AGAINST…
where is your belief in Jesus?

Luke 1:17
“It is he who will go as a forerunner before Him in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers back to the children, and the disobedient to the attitude of the righteous [which is to seek and submit to the will of God]—in order to make ready a people [perfectly] prepared [spiritually and morally] for the Lord.”
Christ secured our eternal home
What Christ secures you cannot lose
You cannot lose what God keeps secured for us
How you can know that you are a Christian
“The spirits of the righteous made perfect” …in Heaven later, and in the here and now. See: Colossians 3:1-4
Excerpt: In Jesus we are enrolled in Heaven! Our spirit has been made perfect – now, yes, in Heaven and right now. Our name is in The Book of Life – now! Are you in The Book of the Living? We are justified now before Holy God (Romans 8:1, Romans 5:16)… only through Jesus.
