That confession you made to God, where you accepted His forgiveness in Jesus, way back when? What was it like?
It makes our eternity
According to Scripture: Our confession makes our eternity. It decides our ultimate fate. By it, we either land in Heaven when we die, or we land at Jesus’ feet for Judgement Day.
The ball is in our court, as they say. But it’s more than a game. Our eternity is in our hands.
Why, you may ask, could a confession of repentance before God — land me in front of the Judge for the ultimate condemnation ever? Well, that becomes the question: Was your confession accepted by God?
Assuming you did enough?
Have you assumed He saved you? The statistics shed doubt on your assumption. They lean towards: not. Apparently God did not save 94% of “us professing Christians”, says Barna. Wow. Most scary thought.
I know I’m saved. I was 100%… when I accepted Him. I follow Him, keeping myself from being caught-up into practicing what God has said “No” to… any practice of sin.
Jesus saved me. “I am enough” because Jesus is enough in me! Do you know yourself well enough to know that you are truly saved?
Today I misheard a dermatologist solicitor say to me,
“Your disappointment
is scheduled
for this month.”
Funny [Silly me]. I foolishly answered “Unknown Caller….”
That call made me remember: That is actually true for the unSaved. Those who are still in their unForgiven sin… to-date are still pre-scheduled for disAppointment by God Himself. Their huge feelings of more-than-just-disppointment will be real upon entering the other side. Imagine the surprise and panic.
– Source: Your disappointment is scheduled
That gives me the shivers. It may be that your disappointment is scheduled…and you don’t even know about it!
I’m sure you, as I, have the same preference regarding Heaven & Hell: Heaven’s my first choice. Hell is my last choice, last on my list, not what I really want. Although some say, “I’m not afraid of Hell“, that is not rational. It behooves us sinners to get this straight.
Do you know yourself well enough to know where you are headed? I must say this again: Was your confession accepted by God?
There is a saving knowledge of Christ, and there is a false knowledge about Christ. One connects you to God and saves you. The other does not lead to Creator God. Do you know the difference?
Which type of knowledge do you have?
– Source: Saving knowledge
Knowledge about Christ:
One connects you
to God
and saves you.
The other
does not
lead to Creator God.
What was in your confession
God saves us in it because of His grace, or, horror of horrors, He does NOT save us…because of a false repentance. One type of confession connects you – whereas the other confession does not.
God only saves us if/when we bring Him 100% of our heart. He is looking at your soul attitude, so to speak. He accepts nothing fake, nothing insincere, nothing dishonest…. As Jesus said in Matthew 16:24, He sees inside your insides, knows your attitude. What’s living rent-free inside your head?
Freeloaders are up there
Maybe you don’t even know the freeloaders are up there. But know this: they are. (Maybe you’ve even invited them in and made them comfortable in there!) It’s part of being alive. Even as believers, all peoples have old nature creatures residing in that often unexplored cavern of our soul on top our neck.
Sometimes I catch one, some particularly bothersome, ugly creature streaming from my soul – coming out from deep inside of me. They scare you? Scares me (Romans 1:18, Romans 2:5, John 3:36).
– Source: What’s living rent-free inside your head?
His one-off offer is His commitment to you forever. His is no off-the-cuff, flippant promise. The promises God makes are sure. He will most assuredly do — what He speaks.
See: Psalm 51 type repentance and salvation
Psalm 51:1-4
Have mercy on me,[a] O God,
according to your steadfast love;
according to your abundant mercy
blot out my transgressions.
2 Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity,
and cleanse me from my sin!
3 For I know my transgressions,
and my sin is ever before me.
4 Against you, you only, have I sinned
and done what is evil in your sight,
Confesssion requires repentance
God offers forgiveness, and God is able to forgive… but God does not forgive the unRepentant confessor. It is no small thing He requires. Salvation will cost you. He is asking you to repent: 1
* 1- we deny ourself “[set aside selfish interests]”
* 2- we take up our cross “[expressing a willingness to endure whatever may come]”
* 3- and we follow Him “[believing in Me, conforming to My example in living and, if need be, suffering or perhaps dying because of faith in Me]”.
Don’t counter-offer Jesus… He is the one offering…not us
That list is from Matthew 16:24. Jesus said the same thing many times, giving us specific salvation parameters. His will in this is adamant. He requires we accept Him on His terms.
Salvation in Jesus, after all, is a special gift Jesus is offering us. Nobody gets saved willie-nilly by whatever means. He saves those who come to Him according to His will, through His specific saving knowledge. That way of whatever? Think it through.
Believe in the Name of Jesus, John wrote (1 John 5:13). Believe, not like Satan believes, but, believe to the extreme point of accepting all that Jesus Christ is and does. Anything less is… your way, not the Jesus’ Way.
We of course do not have to “know it all”. For example: The Thief on the Cross knew absolutely very little. But Jesus told him, “I assure you and most solemnly say to you, today you will be with Me in [a]Paradise.”
The “knowledge that saves” pairs-up with the soul attitude which Jesus requires: deny ourself, take up our cross, believe-conform-follow, be willing to die “because of faith in Me” (Matthew 16:24).
24 Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone wishes to follow Me [as My disciple], he must deny himself [set aside selfish interests], and take up his cross [expressing a willingness to endure whatever may come] and follow Me [believing in Me, conforming to My example in living and, if need be, suffering or perhaps dying because of faith in Me].
– Matthew 16:24
That soul attitude…the yielded soul repenting
Our Omniscient Jesus recognizes an unrepentant heart – on the spot. And, just like that, Jesus instantly saves the genuinely yielded soul repenting.
Jesus is looking for the soul attitude of repentance.
PIC: These 5 missionaries, killed by Aucas… had it!
These …had it:
The 3,000 souls converting on Pentecost Day ...had it. (Acts 2:37-44, Acts 2:1-36)
The Jailer …had it. (Acts 16:27-34)
The Ethiopian in Gaza with Philip …had it. (Acts 8:25-40)
Saul the killer …had it. (He converts and becomes Paul the Apostle in Acts 9:1-31.)
The Thief on the cross …had it.
Your special offer
You cannot offer God of the Universe your special offer. It’s not a negotiation! How grandiose of you, to offer God your terms. Astounding self-importance to do so.
Salvation is not something man makes up over a lifetime, or on the fly. Salvation happens by His will, as we repent according to His Word.
Saved by our religious re-working of Scripture? Our words? Our church’s doctrinal words? It’s like “Are you kidding me?!”
See: 1 John 5:13 and Matthew 12:50
Let’s go back and listen again to Jesus. Listen up. He is the One that saves:
Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone wishes to follow Me [as My disciple], he must deny himself [set aside selfish interests], and take up his cross [expressing a willingness to endure whatever may come] and follow Me [believing in Me, conforming to My example in living and, if need be, suffering or perhaps dying because of faith in Me].
– Matthew 16:24
Your own salvation parameters
If you make-up your own parameters for what you think is required for salvation, then, obviously they are not the parameters God gave us. They’re yours! You made them. For Heaven’s sake, look at the source of your doctrines.
“Do not be deceived….” 1 Corinthians 6:9-10
How much authority do you have outside your brain…even here on earth? How much less in Heaven, God’s Holy Kingdom?
1 Corinthians 6:9-10. My unauthorized paraphrase:
Don’t you know this!?
…that those
who live their own way
will not actually
get into God’s Kingdom?
They won’t have even
the slightest share in it!
Do not be deceived…!
In Heaven’s Courts your parameters are not of importance whatsoever. It’s like: Go to Russia and demand your way. What?!
What audacity: to come to the Courts of God Almighty with your puny human mudman theologies!
“We cannot do good, much less enough good, to merit God’s forgiveness. We must approach God (James 4:8).”
– Source: Outward religion but inward… everything unclean
20 For no [b]person
will be justified
[freed of guilt
and declared righteous]
in His sight
by [trying to do]
the works of the Law.
– Romans 3: verse 20
Prayer itself is an awesome privilege. What a privilege God gives us… to come into His presence with prayer! However, nobody can reach out to God just any old way.
How much more so amazing is the immense privilege of salvation? Salvation is His privilege offered to us – and it comes to us by way of His specific requirements (His parameters).
If you are in a faith that practices what God is against, how can you call that “following Jesus”? God calls it disobedience. Whatever your religion, belief system, or mantra you claim – if it is not according to what the Bible communicates to us, then it is not of God. And it does nothing eternal for your soul.
Why do you think God will accept you with your own made-up formula? Your parameters don’t cut it with Holy God. Absolutely not. 2
“Do you acknowledge the dissidence between your “want-a-be” and your whatch-ya-be? The truth is you can’t have it both ways.
Salvation in Christ is what it is. God has shared His Way with us. It is not “whatever you make it to be”. Salvation is not something you make up for your own convenience.
Are you saved by God? Or are you hoping your own way will be good enough?”
– Source: Accepting Jesus – Plus Some Other
The Bible clearly shows that only a full confession like as to what His Word gives us, saves. Nothing we try diligently to make “on our own” is “following Him“. What we make up on our own… our religion, our church formulas… is a self-made “confession” that the Bible warns against.
Are you confused about what it takes to get to God’s Home Heaven? Do you know The Door to Heaven?
We who know about Jesus and want to spend eternity with Him – must not allow the world’s ways to become our ways. We must fight the good fight against the enemies of our soul that oppose God’s Way: the world, the flesh, and the Devil.
How are you doing with that? Do you want to be a part of “the life of God“? I sure do.

18 for their [moral] understanding is darkened and their reasoning is clouded; [they are] alienated and self-banished from the life of God [with no share in it; this is] because of the [willful] ignorance and spiritual blindness that is [deep-seated] within them, because of the hardness and insensitivity of their heart.
– Ephesians 4:18
___________
“We are going to follow our own plans”…Jeremiah 18:11-12
Are you following your own way to God, your own “confession of faith”? That has been around since way back in Old Testament days:
‘Thus says the Lord, “Behold, I am shaping a disaster and working out a plan against you. Turn back, each of you from his evil way; correct your habits and change your actions for the better.”’
12 But they will say, ‘That is hopeless! For we are going to follow our own plans, and each of us will act in accordance with the stubbornness of his evil heart.’
– Jeremiah 18:11-12
Following your own made-up ways? When we are saved, we then begin “the life of God“. We don’t begin His life – by acting on our own plans. Using your own way will never work. Your way will get you…
“alienated and self-banished
from the life of God”
___________
“for their [moral] understanding is darkened and their reasoning is clouded; [they are] alienated and self-banished from the life of God [with no share in it; this is] because of the [willful] ignorance and spiritual blindness that is [deep-seated] within them, because of the hardness and insensitivity of their heart.”
– Ephesians 4:18
The Bible tells us that God absolutely wants to save us. Why else come to die on earth!? We know the will of God in this. He died to save us. His love is for all mankind. His salvation is adequate for all. “Whosoever will may come.” So why are some not saved?
There are many, many, many — who prayed to receive God’s free gift of salvation, but they did it their own way – not according to what Jesus requires. They are the type who works out their way “in accordance with the stubbornness of his evil heart”. So, so sad – to end up with no salvation at all.
Want God’s approval? Look into what we find in His Word.

When the buzz is gone, the excitement is over, the others have gone home, and it’s only you: are you truly His, or was it just a thrill, an emotional high, a status thing, a “thing” you’ve done – something religious that you like?
This is normal for some. Year after year, week after week… they claim to be “a Christian”. They identify themselves as “a person of faith“. Isn’t that the thing to say these days.? They just really really like the experience of it all. But, but, but they never genuinely bow their soul to God and let Him in.

Hate ruins your life. Jesus taught you cannot be born again reborn from above if you habitually hate. Wow. THAT is severe. And this is taught throughout the Bible as a whole.
Hating is “eternal-life-changing”. Scary thought.

As good ways of thinking and acting can “get in our head” for good (Romans 12:6-21; Ephesians 4:24-32), there’s bad and ornery already inside our insides working for evil (2 Corinthians 12:20-21; Galatians 5:19-21). I’m workin’ to conform to the good ones (Romans 12:2; 1 Peter 1:14).
