Jesus promised many things. Love it! He was so sure of Himself! Isn’t that terrific?
My favorites of His: Promises God makes about salvation.
If you have turned to God, we read in Scripture a very definite instruction for us all:
“wait for His Son from [f]heaven”
—Jesus who rescues us
from the wrath to come.”
– 1 Thessalonians 1:9-10 NASB
That is what followers of Jesus do, daily: wait for His return.
Why did we turn to God for salvation? Of course, primarily “to serve the living and true God“. The other reason, Paul tells us, is “to [look forward and confidently] wait for [the coming of] His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead“.
Verses 9-10
“you turned to God from idols
to serve the living and true God,
10 and to [look forward and confidently] wait for [the coming of] His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead
—Jesus, who [personally] rescues us from the coming wrath [and draws us to Himself, granting us all the privileges and rewards of a new life with Him].“
– 1 Thessalonians 1:9-10
Waiting and expecting Jesus to return soon is – a basic tenet of the faith. Believe it!
One of the many statements Jesus made was: “In the future you will see me revealed”
He is giving us signs of the times today – and because of them I now am saying:
There is only
an outside chance
I will ever die
I am in my early 70s, and doctors say most will live longer these days. Maybe so, maybe not. But with The Rapture just around the corner… it may be that I shall be snatched up by God before I die! 1 Corinthians 15:51.

When Christians disappear and you wonder why
“In the future you will see me revealed” Excerpt: Jesus foretold the future. He was technically “a prophet”. But He was far more, as we know. He was the Godman Jesus – come down from His heavenly Home.
Prior to being crucified, Jesus said “In the future you will see me revealed…” Matthew 26:64, Mark 14:62. He has not returned yet, but He will. Count on it! Wait for it.
