– The World, the Flesh, and the Devil. Excerpt from: An unguarded life August 22, 2018 These entities are the enemies of our soul – three (3) “forces” which are part and parcel of living on earth as humans: (1) the world, (2) the flesh, and (3) Satan. They are not going away – until […]
Put on the new
Being a “Christian” involves beginning to actually live what Christ taught. Have you come into the saving knowledge of Christ?
Unfathomable love
Oh the unfathomable love of our wonderful mysterious God. Think about it. His love is so endless, amazingly deep and wide. Try understanding this love. God’s love for us is never failing, beyond the capabilities of our understanding. God foreknew us as sinful, yet loved us still. God hates sin, but even though He foreknew […]
My wild and crazy stallion heart
My wild and crazy stallion heart has at times taken me away from God’s Ways. How ’bout you? The only good thing in that, is that God forgives all wrongdoings of all repentant sinners, no exceptions. I continue to repent of my sins. So, by God’s mercy — I am not the sum of all my sins. I am forgiven.
This is love
God is love, the Bible says. So, what is He like?
Does it matter – what you believe?
Is it really all that important — who you are and what you believe? When it comes to God, getting born again, and what is or is not “a part of walking the walk” – does it matter? What is it, really, — getting “saved” and, following Jesus or following whatever? Does it matter? Do […]
Show me actual false teachings
False teachers don’t come looking like The Walking Dead! If they did – we’d know to stay away from their teachings! They come to churches “dressed as sheep [appearing gentle and innocent]” but actually on the inside they are horrible, “ravenous wolves”. What are actual false teachings “out there”? What are the teachings contrary to what Jesus and the Apostle Paul taught?
The well-guarded soul
The well-guarded soul will keep you following Jesus. What can you do to guard your soul?
Good Fruit
Jesus taught that He is the Vine. And we are to be on that Vine – producing fruit. He explains that it is of upmost importance that we “abide” or remain in Him. Where are you “abiding”?
Bad Fruit
The BAD FRUIT List… from Ephesians 4:12-32 (Amplified Bible) Matthew 7:17 Even so, every healthy tree bears good fruit, but the unhealthy tree bears bad fruit. We are not hereby encouraged to be “fruit inspectors” of others – nor condemning of anyone. But rather, as put by Paul: “Test and evaluate yourselves.” “Test and evaluate […]
An unguarded life
No matter who you be… you are unwise to be that Dumbass Lamb “alone in green meadows surrounded by giant forests where wolves lurk”. Guard your life.
Hell Fire Insurance
I have really tried to, but can’t seem to find in the Bible any reference to “Hell Fire Insurance”. Have you? That’s what some call it: where you can somehow “accept Jesus”, but then, well, all kinds of pressures push you away and back into sin… and you just continue there, blustering defiantly, defensively, when […]
On what do you base your beliefs?
Do you know why you believe what you believe? Do you know what is the basis for your beliefs about God? When I was a child, I had all kinds of “beliefs”. Much of what I “thought” — turned-out to be make-believe. Ephemeral. Like mist. Much of what people think – is so baseless, without […]
What false prophets are like
Biblical texts about false prophets, false spirits, and their false teachings. The Bible warns us about the increasing danger of false teachings creeping into our churches, of false teachers among us. False teachers are church leaders who reject the Bible or portions of the Bible – they reject the gospel preached by Paul and Jesus… and begin to teach “another gospel” which is not the one from Jesus.
Religious leaders of Jesus’ day
…A condensed description by Jesus In Matthew 23 Jesus called out the spiritual leaders of His day, calling them all kinds of evil: hypocrites, self-righteous, blind guides, fools, blind men, spiritually blind men, full of extortion, full of robbery, full of self-indulgence (unrestrained greed), full of everything unclean. Here, quoted excerpts of actual verses: Matthew 23 […]
About False Teachings of Today
A series dealing with the issues of False Teachers, False Teachings, False Practices in the church, dealing with hearts that are far from God – but speaking as if “from God”.
The Confuscating John Pavlovitz
This post is a warning to the Church against false teachers. In this day of instant communication, rarely deeply thought through, we need to be careful who we listen to. We need to be warned about these wolves in sheep’s clothing.Jesus named names. The Apostle Paul named names. False teachers spout a lot of their own words, trying to maintain a “Christian” look and feel. I stay away from dishonest wolves in sheepskins.
Calling out false teachers
Part of the mission of Christ’s followers is to teach the way of Christ – and to warn when someone is teaching “another gospel” different from what was written by the faithful early church. “Warning” about false teachers and false teachings — is a good thing we do. It is what “a good servant of Christ Jesus” does.
Enjoy spiritual well-being
We can live in contentment as we learn to walk the talk and stay close to God by our actions day to day. And when we fail, we confess our sin — and begin again renewed. That is spiritual wellness. That is the close walk with God.
Cognitive Dissonance
Many believe in the historic general Napoleon, because of historical records — but confronted with even more and greater historical evidences, do not believe in the historic Jesus, God come down to earth as a man. What cognitive dissonance… that extreme feeling of discomfort some folks get when their core belief is challenged or contradicted.
Put this on
This passage, Colossians 3:5-17, is loaded! It is not ambiguous. It is a very clear description of “what I am to be” as a follower of Christ. Put it on! Being in Christ, we now have the power of God’s Spirit indwelling us with power — so that we are quite capable of not sinning. Genesis 4:7.
Be this everywhere all the time
I will determine, every day, to be this… everywhere all the time. I am motivated to actually be this type of person because of who I am in Christ, and because God Himself has chosen me to be His representative here (2 Corinthians 5: verses 5-21), for as long as He sees fit to – until He calls me home.
God as Man – the short version
The chronology of God the Son…. Of course – God is eternal, and existed, well, since forever. Try wrapping your mind around that!
Is this you?
What does Jesus want to see in me? 1 Thessalonians 5 tells us a lot about that.
Gratefully eat what God has created
Sorry PETA, but, your “take” on life is so very off-base. It is apparent you have created a whole new religion, negating biblical truths. God created what we have for food. It can be eaten, in moderation of course — because “everything created by God is good.” “foods which God has created to be gratefully […]
Be careful that no one misleads you
Jesus said, “Be careful that no one misleads you [deceiving you and leading you into error] – Matthew 24:verse 4 I am the only one responsible for my eternal soul. Same for you. Right? If someone deceives me, convincing me, leading me into a false religious cult, there will be no recourse for me in […]
Admitting I was wrong
Ever feel like a working moron! Sometimes I am a moron! I do exactly NOT what I wanted to do, just as the Apostle Paul admitted in Romans 7: verse 15. How foolish is that!? Jesus does not condemn me when I sin! God does not approve my sin. He wants me to be pure and righteous, all together. But my God is a 1 Corinthians 13 type of God (verses :4-8a)!
Limited Grace
Salvation in Christ is not a willy-nilly “free for all” gift bin. The Gospel of Christ is not a “come one, come all” offer by God. No. You must be born again.
The gentleness of wisdom
I was so repelled by the anger of a radio preacher the other day. His voice was angry! So harsh, the sound. Why would a preacher sound angry preaching his sermon? He was yelling at me! Scripture shows us a different tone: “The gentleness of wisdom” (James 3:13-18). It seems to be so missing – […]
