Many of today’s multiple cultures lead folks into believing: I was born smart. The majority believe they are living the better way, that they are “in the know” 1
In their minds they are wise, even though their ways, what they live out from day to day, shout out otherwise.
They stumble and fall, but blithefully 2 get up and do it again, still without a clue – like the Improv Comedian, Heather McDonald, who said, “Clearly Jesus loves me the most”… and then was immediately struck down (see video).
How ’bout you? “Living smart”, your way? Got it together?
To really get smart with how we live, the Bible shows us we need to
Don’t be ignorant of God’s truths:
True wisdom – Proverbs 1:7
“The [reverent] fear of the Lord [that is, worshiping Him and regarding Him as truly awesome] is the beginning and the preeminent part of knowledge [its starting point and its essence];
But arrogant [a]fools despise [skillful and godly] wisdom and instruction and self-discipline.
The Threefold Nature of Man – 1 Thessalonians 5:23
23 Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you through and through [that is, separate you from profane and vulgar things, make you pure and whole and undamaged—consecrated to Him—set apart for His purpose]; and may your spirit and soul and body be kept complete and [be found] blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
Man’s Brokenness – Romans 3:23
23 since all have sinned and continually fall short of the glory of God”.
