I thank God every day that He brought me up, out of the miry clay. I am sure as Hell that you have seen the miry clay, the sins. Have you, sure as Heaven, experienced the mind-bending, clean-up, brand new making power of Jesus – Creator God?
Run with endurance and active persistence the race that is set before us
“run with endurance and active persistence the race that is set before us” – Hebrews 12:1 All the runners run There are many ways to run a race. We can run to win, or we can unconsciously run to lose. Are you winning in your race? “seize the prize and make it yours!” The Christian […]
Hebrews 12:1
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses [who by faith have testified to the truth of God’s absolute faithfulness], stripping off every unnecessary weight and the sin which so easily and cleverly entangles us, let us run with endurance and active persistence the race that is set before us….” – […]
What’s living rent-free inside your head?
There’s a whole bunch of ornery characters taking up space inside ya’lls head. Are you feeding them?
We are pressured in every way, but not crushed
The Apostle Paul wrote that the normal Christian life is full of uncomfortableness. Every day modernity seeks evasive Garden of Eden lifestyles of bliss. Heaven will be that good! But here — not so much. Sin has destroyed that for us, for now. We should not be surprised by pain and sorrows. As believers we […]
His due sentencing
Did you know that we are all due to appear before The Judge of All to receive His holy justice, His due sentencing? Sure as hell – what is due to God is “owed at a certain time”, a time of God’s choosing. And that time is upon death. Your strength of will cannot help you avoid His due sentencing. Ready?
What’s your problem?
The Good News is that God accepts anyone and everyone that truly repents and follows Him with sincerity and truth. The Bad News is: there is no way your way will get you past the pearly gates. We must go through “The Door”, Jesus!
This is Salvation in Christ
It’s a very simple message from God, actually – what He expects of us. His message is to all of us — us sinful, willful, rebellious, self-centered creatures. God is asking you and me to repent.
Unrestrained sinful sinful humans
Even with the abiding presence of the Holy Spirit in us as born again believers, we humans sin and sin, and sin again. Imagine the scene after the Rapture, when un-redeemed humans will be sinning wantonly, without restraint.
God takes care of sinners
We all sin. The allurements of the enemies of our soul entrap us with sin, saying, go that way. The message of Christ says, repent, turn this way. “I am the way, the truth, and the life….” We struggle not to sin. So, what kind of sinner are you?
Yielding your will to God
“…he [who is born again] cannot habitually [live a life characterized by] sin, because he is born of God and longs to please Him.” –1 John 3:9 You can’t get much clearer than that: “cannot”. Too many professing “Christians” are just plainly not “reborn from above”. They are not really saved. They are into habitual […]
1 John 3:9
1 John 3:9 No one who is born of God [deliberately, knowingly, and habitually] practices sin, because God’s seed [His principle of life, the essence of His righteous character] remains [permanently] in him [who is born again —who is reborn from above —spiritually transformed, renewed, and set apart for His purpose]; and he [who is […]
Feeling insignificant?
It’s all so senseless looking, worthless, waste – and yet there is one ray of light, a hope for now, today, tomorrow
Penalty vs Effect
Excerpt from: My Heinous Heinous Ways Don’t confuse the “penalty” of sin (if you stand before God or the government) – with the “effect” of sin (the pain and anguish inflicted). Yes, in God’s Heavenly Court any degree of sin is worthy of condemnation, so in that sense, it’s all bad. However, any specific sin […]
I’m not what he says I am
I am what God says I am. God says I am a brand new creature — in Christ. I am not the sum total of all my sins. Why?
Misunderstanding God
For some strange reason I am constantly amazed by the confident bravado of unrepentant so-called “Christians”. But, why am I surprised? “Unrepentant” is bold rebellion, vain conceit, and unbowing willfulness. I don’t think many are “misunderstanding God”. They are merely choosing to follow another god. Won’t that be a horrible day, to beam up and […]
Being faithful, little by little
Faithfulness is a process. We live, we try, we fail, we sin – but the faithful then repent, turn to God again, and move on in faith. The faithful are little-by-little-faithful. No person on earth is totally faithful to God all at once. They are not sinless. They are not saved in the end because they sinned less than “the other guy”. Does the way you live – show that you “love the Lord your God with all your heart”? Is your heart on the altar – 100%? Or is your heart cracked?
Keeping Sin
The little verse of Psalm 66:18 teaches us a whole lot about God – and prayer. Just in this tiny verse we see: “If I regard wickedness in my heart, The Lord will not hear.” I am born again, and God has forgiven me of all my sins. However, on any given day or moment, if I come to Him in prayer AND am holding a sin, so to speak, or allowing a sin to have a place in my life — then, the Bible tells me: God will not give heed to what I say.
Oh regret
What is your regret? Have you repented? Truly turned…?
My Heinous Heinous Ways
There is a tendency to think that – because I have sinned, therefore God does not like me, doesn’t want me, and, boy is He miffed at me! But that is not what the Bible teaches. That is not what Jesus practiced. So why are folks so condemning of people who fail!? At this time in God’s plan of the ages for us, God is not condemning sinners. THAT will come later! Currently God is trying to get our attention to get us to accept Him before it is too late!
Pick a Sin – Any Sin
Scripture mentions “the sin which so easily entangles us” (Hebrews 12:verse 1). What is yours? I do not want to be like drunk people, like a dog, like a pig… Isaiah 19:14; Proverbs 26:11; 2 Peter 2:22. How about you?
A God Damn
Have you ever tried to grasp the deep intensity of God’s feelings against your sin? Do you know how much He hates sin?
Being a Sinner
Being a sinner is actually quite humiliating, isn’t it? (I assume you also are… and can relate?) I did not want this. I did not plan this. I did not want to be in this. So what do you do about it? My ambition in life – is to please my God. So, this sinning is not what I want. And yet, I still sin! The thing is, though God saves us in an instant, maturity is a lifelong process that takes time. We have to learn to take it as it comes – and look to Christ moment by moment. We don’t accept the sinning, but we accept that we are weak and in need of the power of God in our life!
Acting Wickedly
The Judge of All will define what is “wicked”. Not me, not you. The Bible is Gods’ Word about Himself and all His ways.
Playing With Sin
Sinners who accept sin, who conform themselves to their flesh – in whatever form, remain under condemnation still. If you struggle with sin, that means you are not accepting of it. You are rejecting sin but finding your flesh overwhelming. Born-again followers do that. There is a difference between being a sinner – versus living in sin. All born-again believers are sinners, but they have rejected sin by turning to Christ. They have been freed by God – from condemnation.
Sin Defined
Sin is an awful thing. The word for sin in the Greek is Harmatia and means “to miss the mark”. It was taken from a military expression of trying to hit the bull’s eye but missing it. Because it is so powerful, we can become a slave to it (John 8:34). It will control us (Romans 5:12). Sin can be defined as something that is contrary to God’s nature and character. It is his opposite.
Jesus Saves Us From Our Sin
Jesus saves us from our sins. Our sins were laid on Jesus at the cross. Have you believed and repented?
If I Were To Let Sin Reign In My Body
If I were to let sin reign in my body, then — what a mess. But I don’t let it. I am not “these things”. I am strong in Him. Only in Him.
No Sin – No Problem
Want to have sin when you go before The Judge? What the Hell? Don’t you want to go to Heaven? Only Jesus Messiah was “without sin”. Me, you… not a chance. We need His pure forgiveness!
Does saying a “sinners prayer” save one from going to hell?
Does saying a “sinners prayer” save one from going to hell? A lot of people think it does! Why wouldn’t it save you?
