Quotes about mere puny mud-men and women of clay – us.
Does it matter – what you believe?
Is it really all that important — who you are and what you believe? When it comes to God, getting born again, and what is or is not “a part of walking the walk” – does it matter? What is it, really, — getting “saved” and, following Jesus or following whatever? Does it matter? Do […]
Show me actual false teachings
False teachers don’t come looking like The Walking Dead! If they did – we’d know to stay away from their teachings! They come to churches “dressed as sheep [appearing gentle and innocent]” but actually on the inside they are horrible, “ravenous wolves”. What are actual false teachings “out there”? What are the teachings contrary to what Jesus and the Apostle Paul taught?
What false prophets are like
Biblical texts about false prophets, false spirits, and their false teachings. The Bible warns us about the increasing danger of false teachings creeping into our churches, of false teachers among us. False teachers are church leaders who reject the Bible or portions of the Bible – they reject the gospel preached by Paul and Jesus… and begin to teach “another gospel” which is not the one from Jesus.
About False Teachings of Today
A series dealing with the issues of False Teachers, False Teachings, False Practices in the church, dealing with hearts that are far from God – but speaking as if “from God”.
The Confuscating John Pavlovitz
This post is a warning to the Church against false teachers. In this day of instant communication, rarely deeply thought through, we need to be careful who we listen to. We need to be warned about these wolves in sheep’s clothing.Jesus named names. The Apostle Paul named names. False teachers spout a lot of their own words, trying to maintain a “Christian” look and feel. I stay away from dishonest wolves in sheepskins.
Calling out false teachers
Part of the mission of Christ’s followers is to teach the way of Christ – and to warn when someone is teaching “another gospel” different from what was written by the faithful early church. “Warning” about false teachers and false teachings — is a good thing we do. It is what “a good servant of Christ Jesus” does.
Needing something more than Jesus
If in your faith in Christ — you are also needing something more than Jesus, then you are most likely being led astray, taught by a counterfeit charismatic movement leader or a New Age church. These charming charmers, false teachers, “turn away from the faith, paying attention instead to deceitful and seductive spirits and doctrines of demons”.
Limited Thinking
So, you are thinking? That’s a good thing! And those thoughts are – what? They are your thoughts? Have you been able to get past your own thinking – and think with God and His expressed thoughts? What experience do you have in the universe, to be a foundation for your thoughts – by you, yourself? On what do you build your thoughts? Is it only from you and others like you? Do you live your own way?
It’s Time
Time, by God, is totally different from time as experienced by man on earth. Time will be no more — in heaven. Heaven will be a Timeless Infinite Continuum.
Saving Knowledge
There is a saving knowledge of Christ, and there is a false knowledge about Christ. One connects you to God and saves you. The other does not lead to Creator God. Do you know the difference?
Do you pray like this, not heeding Scripture?
Biblical prayer is not a decree; and we do not “curse” disease. Please don’t tell me it is based on Jesus cursing the tree! Prayers like “I decree”, “I command…”, “I curse the cancer…”, “I… command it to flee right now”, “I declare this to… dry bones”? What what WHAT! What “promise” of the Word says THAT?
It is what it is: The Bible Is God’s Word To Us
Over the course of hundreds of years, the Bible was put together by God — so that we could come to believe that Jesus is God Himself come down to earth to redeem a people to Himself, the Messiah, Son of God. God put the Bible together by inspiring writers with His message. Have you read it for what it is – God’s word to mankind? It is important to not read-into-it, not remove what makes us uncomfortable, not reject portions of the Bible where it says what we do not want to hear!
Unbeliefism
I am amazed by the lack of desire to know what is really true. You see this “unbeliefism” against Christian belief all over the internet. Many internet sites are entirely dedicated to promulgating this “unbeliefism”. Let’s look at one who is influenced totally by his unbeliefism toward the Christian faith.
Understanding Jesus
You can’t just sit and waddle in your own cultural pool – if you want to understand Jesus, because hey – Jesus was a Torah-fulfilling Jew, not you! Read the Bible from the perspective of the writers, from the context of that day – not now! Read to understand it – as it was written. […]

Go to Study Guide: How to Study the Bible, by Jeffrey Bruce and Brian D. Asbill Author’s Preface by Jeffrey Bruce As I have studied at Biola, it has become apparent to me both cognitively and experientially that correct application of the Bible comes only through correct interpretation. Discernment When Interpreting
T. A. McMahon wrote: The critical issue for discernment is not “how it works” but “what is being communicated.” We have to be vigilant to always see the full counsel of God’s Word (Acts 17:11) so that we don’t get on some false rabbit trail.
Writing About Religion
-commentary about the March 11, 2016 article, How Christianity explains Trump, by writer Pascal-Emmanuel Gobry. Very interesting how major writers write about religion in our country. I am always interested when they write about my faith, to see if they get it right. Some really get it wrong. They write as if they know what the […]
Eisegesis vs Exegesis
Eisegesis (pronounced “eye-see-jesus”) is the very poor technique of interpretation of the Bible – according to what you already believe, whereas Exegesis (pronounced “ex-see-jesus”) is the much more accurate technique of interpretation of the Bible – using only the Bible and it’s context – without “reading into it” from what you already believe. Makes sense, […]
Christ and… ONLY Christ
You put forth false teaching when you use Muslim mysticism as truth. Very disappointing – to see a Christian missionary agency expounding on the Word in this manner. Makes you kind of wonder….
About Biblical Inerrancy
Would God give us erroneous documents and call them “His”? Dumb idea! God brought everything together to form the Bible. Evidence is overpowering as you read what the Bible is, and what it tells us. “It is the history of the Bible that makes it unique among ‘sacred texts.’ See who wrote the Bible, how its reportive style is backed by archeology and historians…” – Quote from “Why You Can Believe the Bible” (www.everystudent.com).
False Prophets
“You may be asking yourselves, “How can we tell if a prophet’s message really comes from the Lord?”” -Deuteronomy 18:21. How can we distinguish the true from the false?
