An appeal to the NAR-type Charismatic people of faith.
Acting on what you misUnderstood… can get you into lots of troubles!
Driving over a cliff
Ever been misdirected while driving? Acting on misDirections to “Where’s the beach?” – and thence driving over a cliff to your death… shows the danger of misInterpretations of Scripture. Even the most sincere misdirected followers duckduckgo.com of “misInterpretations” are driving over a cliff.
Are you following misInterpretations by false teachers? The truth is apostate churches misdirect – about God Himself. Really want to do the cliff jump with them?
They are everywhere. There are more NAR-type Charismatics than most Christians realize – millions worldwide. You there?
The exact number of NAR-type Charismatic churches worldwide is difficult to determine, but it is estimated that more than 66 million Christians in the United States have likely come into significant contact with NAR teachings, indicating a substantial presence. The movement is also making significant strides in the Global South, contributing to its growth.”

And that is why I am so concerned for you. Are you attending one, leading one, or have relatives in one? Yikes!
My read on Scripture
What I see in the Bible about these groups – is grim. Scripture gives the ultimate grim outlook for the so-called brother that adheres to the apostate NAR-type doctrines and practices.
The scariest thing about them? NAR practices prevent seekers from receiving salvation.
“Another Gospel”
from wayward false teachers
does not get you to Heaven!
Scripture is adamant:
Excerpt from: Balancing-out my faith with my practice
The reality of God’s universe is
— it’s not your universe.
It behooves us to seek after God
and get His Word on things.
Our thoughts are not His thoughts.
My thoughts
will not be consulted by God
on That Day.
“No matter how loving and kind you are, how long you have claimed to follow Jesus — if you reject God’s Word and walk in direct conflict with what He has required of us all:
How can He accept you into His Kingdom? He will not.”
– From: Balancing-out my faith with my practice.
Isaiah 55:8
“For My thoughts
are not your thoughts,
Nor are
your ways
My ways,”
declares the Lord.
God owns truth. Some of us never seem to get it: All sin is heinous to God. And without repentance, a conscious “turning away from” it, there is no forgiveness.
“You cannot serve both God and mammon.”
Luke 16:13 13 No servant can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will stand devotedly by the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and mammon [that is, your earthly possessions or anything else you trust in and rely on instead of God].” 2
Walking after Joe…in your delusional church universe
For example: Mormons still sing Christian worship songs… as if they were still Christian! Sounds beautiful (like what NAR musicians create.) But they are not Christians. They do not follow what Jesus taught. They “turned away from Jesus”. They turned to “another gospel” that does not save.
Joseph Smith misdirected them to walk away from Jesus. Today they are still walking after Joe, misdirected by misInterpretations — not following Christ.
NARers do the same thing. They do not follow what Jesus taught – either. They are misdirecting folks. In effect they teach:
“Good News! God declassified certain sins!“
Did your church tell you this? God declassified certain sins! It’s somewhat like airlines say, “It is now permitted to walk around [the planet with these practices].” That is what some “so-called Christians” are saying these days. And literally millions fall for it. But it’s malarky duckduckgo.com.
They think of themselves as so special and bright — that they don’t even realize that they have come up with heinous, spurious google it interpretations. They have lost any semblance of love for God, and have rejected Him 2 Peter 2:1.
– Source: What are they teaching right in there in your church?
Matthew 7:16
16 By their fruit
you will recognize them
[that is,
by their contrived doctrine
and self-focus].
They “are not of God“
Matthew tells us we can recognize them “by their contrived doctrine and self-focus”. Read what they teach!
“By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error”
See: 1 Timothy 4:1-2, 1 John 2:19
Scripture says of wayward folk like them: “They were not really of us“.
“You are not of God, ” Jesus said. Those who belong to God are His sheep – and they actually know His voice and hear Him. But apostates don’t. They can’t because they “are not of God“.
45 But because I speak the truth, you do not believe Me [and continue in your unbelief]. 46 Which one of you [has proof and] convicts Me of sin? If I speak truth, why do you not believe Me?
47 Whoever is of God and belongs to Him hears [the truth of] God’s words; for this reason you do not hear them: because you are not of God and you are not in fellowship with Him.”
– John 8:45-47.
The delusional universe inside your apostate church is not real. It is not of God – what apostates practice. You are in a delusion created by false prophets.
The Bible describes their leaders, such as like Joseph Smith of the Mormons. They are like Bethel Bill, an NAR original. These and their false prophet minions are unqualified and worthless as teachers. Why listen to a false teacher?
Misinterpreting Scripture
*ReadMoreHere – jump to “Misinterpreting Scripture” sections. Then click Return…
Churches are rife with poor hermeneutics. It has fueled the NAR-type Charismatic church movement… and Mormon theology, JW’s, etc.
Acting on misinterpretations of Scripture – is sin. If you continue to proclaim “God has told me…”, when those are actually merely your words you speak forth, then you practice wickedness Matthew 7:21-23.
21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven.
22 Many will say to Me on that day [when I judge them], ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, and driven out demons in Your name, and done many miracles in Your name?’
23 And then I will declare to them publicly, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me [you are banished from My presence], you who act wickedly [disregarding My commands].’
– Matthew 7:21-23
Churches are rife
with poor hermeneutics.
That’s “just fine with me“
It’s like: The pedophile says it’s okay with God to have sex with children. “That’s just fine with me.” But the reality is he is acting in sin practicing sin through a misinterpretation of Scripture. That conduct is condemned by God.
So it is with the NAR-type who misinterprets Scripture to practice what they want. They falsely practice these: ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, and driven out demons in Your name, and done many miracles in Your name?’ verse 22
That is Jesus Himself condemning them. The truth is: “You will never enter.”
The “you will never enter” warning passages in Scripture
See all in one link or singly: Matthew 5:20, Matthew 18:3, Mark 10:15, Luke 18:17, Matthew 7:21, Romans 1:18, Romans 2:5, John 3:36, Matthew 18:3, 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, Deuteronomy 6:15, John 3:3.

You cannot act with impunity when you cover your “Christian faith sin practice“ with your Charisma trappings. They are not a part of the true Christian faith!
Crying “Holy holy holy is our Lord God Almighty” – does not make it okay to lie to God and the world.
After covering… and crying… then you more easily accept more and more blatant misdirects, mistruths, and your apostate fervor accelerates. God’s logic will prevail – The logic of “If this – then that”.
There is no logic in “keeping sin” and expecting to then also get God’s Holiness. What what what?! You, saved, but God is against you? Following your own thinking logic leads away from God and His logic.
Thus we see the wild Kundalini Hindu mysticism in some Charismatic churches, and other weird unbiblical NAR beliefs, errant doctrines, and damning practices – and the creation of beautiful melodies which are the hook for the unsuspecting. And the grooming goes on and on with Bethel – Hillsong – Elevation and the other NARers.
See: Why Your Church Shouldn’t Play Bethel and Hillsong Music | by Justin Peters, Todd Friel.
1 Timothy 4:1-2
“But the [Holy] Spirit explicitly and unmistakably declares that in later times some will turn away from the faith, paying attention instead to deceitful and seductive spirits and doctrines of demons….”
False Ambassadors for Christ
Folks are misrepresenting God when they phoney-up words they feign to speak forth “God’s words” , but in actuality what they are doing is: “speaking your own words”.
God declared I will not be mocked Ezekiel 39:7 and Galatians 6:7.
“…He will not
allow Himself
to be ridiculed,
nor treated with contempt
nor allow His precepts
to be scornfully set aside;
for whatever a man sows,
this and this only is
what he will reap.”
– Galatians 6:7
That is exactly what NAR-types do. They “allow His precepts to be scornfully set aside….” Galatians 6:7 They literally “set aside” the Old Testament! Do you actually think that our omniscient God doesn’t know? You can perhaps deceive others, but not God.
Jesus quoted the Old Testment extensively – with authority. See: Jesus’ References to Old Testament Scriptures (by Rich Robinson | jewsforjesus.org)
Try keeping all the Word of God, all the Old Testament – like Jesus did… and see if you can still believe the false prophecies and misinterpretations. Honestly cannot!
Elijah’s Hilarious Tale
Elijah mocked the false prophets of Baal. Quite hilarious tale, actually! See 1 Kings 18:27.
But mocking God? God Almighty will not be fooled with. You mock God when you “allow His precepts to be scornfully set aside”. Are you saying this? “Ya, but those passages don’t apply nowadays.”
7 Do not be deceived, God is not mocked [He will not allow Himself to be ridiculed, nor treated with contempt nor allow His precepts to be scornfully set aside]; for whatever a man sows, this and this only is what he will reap.
– Galatians 6:7
“‘Thus I will make known my holy name among my people Israel; I will not let it be mocked at anymore. And the nations, too, shall know I am the Lord, the Holy One of Israel.
– Ezekiel 39:7
If God is against you
They thus sin grievously… and the Old Testament declares “I am against you” for your deception. Do you think anyone God is against – will be found in Heaven? Maybe in some ghettos in Heaven? Not a chance.
You think you will be in Heaven – when He has declared “I am against you”? Scary thought.
The NARer is
acting in sin practicing sin
through a
misinterpretation of Scripture.
That’s no excuse!
“My thoughts are God’s words”…so I speak them
It is totally illegitimate – to say “His Spirit so floods my soul that my thoughts are God’s words to say“. God guides our thoughts, but not to the extent that your thoughts are God’s thoughts. What chuzpah. Come on, man!
Exactly quote His Words
God is not giving you His words… unless He does, in which case you can exactly quote His Words verbatim! Do you exactly quote God?
You cannot biblically say “my thoughts are His thoughts“:
“This is what I think God told me,
“Blah blah blah – your own words – not God’s Words”.
Speaking forth God’s Words — is a Spirit enabled ability. So quote Him exactly.
See the warning, “exactly quote His Words”, mentioned in these *listed articles here in this footnote 3
Your thoughts are yours alone! Don’t pawn them off as God’s words.
Who can know the mind of God?
Romans 11:34 NASB
“For who has known
the mind of the Lord,
or who became His counselor?”
Show me the money! *as the saying goes
Show me where “your thoughts” are “His thoughts”. Show me the chapter and verse! There is none. Nobody nowhere ever.
No Scripture states “your thoughts are His thoughts“. In fact what is said by God is the complete opposite:
“Your thoughts are not my thoughts.”
So how can an NAR-type teacher teach this? It is anti-biblical. It is doctrine of demons and wrongheadedness.
Changing what God started
In spite of God’s immutibility Google it (“unchangingness“), today we have false teachers claiming that the Old Testament is no longer valid for Christians and their practices. The OT is no longer God’s Word for us today? They have changed what is God’s Word.
They say that God’s Word of yesteryears is replaced by new words of their own. What a crock that is! We seem to have spontaneous illogicality and doublespeak in some churches, just as we see it in the world.
NAR-types are changing what God started! They misrepresent God. They force God to speak their own words! They are caughtup with practices that God said NOT TO practice. How on earth can you follow that?
Beware, you who speak forth your own words as if they were God’s words. The Old Testament prohibitions are still in force! The Old Testament is still Truth for today. God is against that.
What a crock!
This is the NARer speaking:
This is NAR misinterpretation:
“I walk in the Spirit and His Spirit communes with my spirit (Note: so far so good)
to such a divine oneness that what I think…is God in me. (Note: that is the heresy.)
Thus my thoughts are God’s words.
And I speak forth the Words of God.” (Note: Total hogwash. Heresy.)
How the NARer “makes God speak”…Making God Speak
To say it more clearly – this is why and how the NARer “makes God speak”. He-she says the following.
This is the NARer speaking:
This is NAR misinterpretation:
“I am so close to God as I walk in the Spirit. His Spirit is one with my spirit, communing with me. I am so spiritually in tune with the Spirit that I experience “divine oneness”.
In that moment “what I think…is what God in me is thinking“. My thoughts are God’s words. And so I speak out loud what is on my mind because they are the Words of God.”
What I speak in the Spirit are: the word of the Lord, a prophecy, a prophecy foretelling the future, a word of knowledge, a word of encouragement from God to you.
My words are just as powerful as the words of the prophets of old. And since they are new revelations from God, what I say is actually on a higher authority level than Scripture, of both Old and New Testaments.
The heresy of this:
what I think…is God in me. (Note: that is the heresy.)
What apostates say here, is heresy:
In that moment “what I think…is what God in me is thinking”. My thoughts are God’s words. And so I speak out loud God’s Words – what is on my mind – because they are the Words of God.”
my thoughts are God’s words. (Note: that is total hogwash.)
Don’t go farther than Scripture…Pretending your word is God’s word
It is a clear practice of sin when you declare “God has told me…”, when actually you are merely pretending. Actually, your words are only what you imagine God is saying (…because you are such an intimate friend of His!?) God is against you in that, the Bible says. How horrible is that?
“Truly I perceive that
God doesn’t show favoritism;
but in every nation he who fears
(or reveres) him and works righteousness
is acceptable to him.
– Acts 10:34-35 WEB
“God doesn’t show favoritism”
You think: “I’m just fine with this”, and God approves. But you will never get away with doing what God is against. As if your mindset is protected by God. But it is not. Your apostate mindset is opposed by God, actually.
Excerpt from: As if your mindset is protected by God
We will be called to account for our mindset, our way of thinking. Fear this, fear the wrath, says the Gospel which takes away all fear.
We become set against Him when our mindset becomes set on what He cannot approve.
There is no “protected speech” in God’s reality. If we dare go beyond the holiness of our biblical Holy God, then we are walking in darkness and we venture outside His protection.
We then are “beyond the burger”, not real beef. Spiritually.
Where has your heart wandered? What mindset holds your heart captive? Can our biblical Holy God agree with you? Your answers have eternal consequence.
God said He is against false speakers who put-out their own words as “God’s words”.
If God’s biblical mindset differs from yours, why will God not throw you out like He did with Lucifer? We are not the Potter. We are the clay He is molding.
– Source: As if your mindset is protected by God
Jeremiah 7:4-9
“4 Do not trust in the deceptive and lying words [of the false prophets….”
8 “Behold, you are trusting in deceptive and useless words that bring no benefit….
It is only God’s forgiveness that removes the penalty of sin in His Kingdom. And His forgiveness is only for those who repent. You must turn from these practices. Reject false practices. Salvation is not a matter of balancing-out your sins with good deeds.
God calls His followers to reject sin (2 Corinthians 7:1), turn away from all that He calls “sin”, and press on to our upward calling (Philippians 3:12-14).
– Adapted From: Balancing-out my faith with my practice:
You have to have “the faith”…not a changed faith different from Jesus’ Pure Gospel
The New Testament Apostle Paul is clear about this. If you want to get to heaven you have to have “the faith” (of Matthew, Mark, Luke, John and Paul)… and NARers do not have it. You cannot get to Heaven by adhering to “another gospel” such as the faith of NAR teachers.
– Source: As Teachers of the Faith – Unqualified and Worthless
Jesus Himself is heard here addressing the issue of Charismatic practices of the End Days as “you who practice lawlessness” (in the NASB version), or, (in the AMP version) as “you who act wickedly [disregarding My commands]’ . “Disregarding”, omitting, God’s directives, is wicked. 1 Timothy 6:3-5 You dare to challenge that?
Jesus’ condemnation of Charismatic practices is found in the scariest verse in the Bible. He said,
21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven.
22 Many will say to Me on that day [when I judge them], ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, and driven out demons in Your name, and done many miracles in Your name?’
23 And then I will declare to them publicly, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me [you are banished from My presence], you who act wickedly [disregarding My commands].’ – Matthew 7:21-23
This similar account adds,
“‘We ate and drank in Your presence, and You taught in our streets’; 27 but He will say to you, ‘I do not know where you are from; depart from Me, all you evildoers!’” – Luke 13:22-30
It is the will of God that we follow both OT and NT Scripture. To negate what He told us, is to deny God.
Many NAR-type practices, such as those in Bethel Johnson’s unbiblical teachings, severely contradict the Gospel of Jesus. Such belief and practices make you apostate. 4
That is wicked according to Matthew 7:21-23 and — is done by evildoers according to Luke 13:22-30.
We cannot contradict Jesus… and at the same time be following Him. Absolutely not possible.
Teaching that Contradicts Jesus
Do you really want to contradict God? Wow. Read what Paul says about this to Timothy in just 3 verses.
1 Timothy 6:3-5…
3 If anyone teaches a different doctrine and does not agree with the sound words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and with the doctrine and teaching which is in agreement with godliness (personal integrity, upright behavior),
4 he is conceited and woefully ignorant [understanding nothing]. He has a morbid interest in controversial questions and disputes about words, which produces envy, quarrels, verbal abuse, evil suspicions,
5 and perpetual friction between men who are corrupted in mind and deprived of the truth, who think that godliness is a source of profit [a lucrative, money-making business—withdraw from them].
The NAR type deceptive leader
According to 1 Timothy 6:3-5…
- teaches a different doctrine
- does not agree with the sound words of our Lord Jesus Christ (such as Matthew 7:21-23)
- does not agree with the doctrine and teaching which is in agreement with godliness (personal integrity, upright behavior)
- is conceited and woefully ignorant [understanding nothing].
- has a morbid interest in controversial questions and disputes about words
- produces envy, quarrels, verbal abuse, evil suspicions
- produces perpetual friction between men who are corrupted in mind and deprived of the truth,
- thinks that godliness is a source of profit [a lucrative, money-making business
We also learn more about these false teachers from Paul in 2 Timothy 4:3-4 and 2 Timothy 3:1-8.

NAR-type Teachings Disobey Jesus
Your purported agreement with a “Jesus only always faith” is phoney baloney — if you do not obey Jesus, because “works” must follow your mouthed words. Jesus quoted the Old Testament many times see Jews for Jesus article, thus stamping His approval of the Old Testament (OT) for us – still.
So why is it that NAR-types can teach contrary to Jesus, saying the OT has been nullified by Jesus’ own New Covenant? 5
They teach practices for which: God is against them. THAT is the scariest thing.

Really want to go there with them?
They excuse their false practices by denying Old Testament (OT) relevance. Totally astounding! If they kept God’s Old Testament warnings, then they would reject their false practices.
Their prophets conveniently claim their doctrines are exempt from OT warnings. They negate the fact that the OT is still good to go. They are busy changing what God started! I would never dare do that! The Bible warns against that.
Therefore, thus says the Lord God, “Because you have spoken empty and delusive words and have seen lies, therefore behold, I am against you,” says the Lord God.
– Ezekiel 13:8 *Also refer to the references above.
Contrary to their prophecies, the OT has not been counted down-and-out. The New Covenant that Jesus introduced does not negate the OT (contrary to their claim). The truth is – nowhere in the New Testament is the OLD negated. Not a chance! The truth is the Old Testament is still Truth for today.

Calling out false teachers – the Charismatic Apostates
The problem with Charismatic Apostates is this: NARers habitually disobey God. Nobody can practice sin, walk in disobedience to God, refuse to repent of what He calls “sin” — “keeping NAR-type sin“… and then be acceptable to God.
Preach about God’s grace — till you’re blue in the face, but it is clear in Scripture that such folk are living in disobedience. Making sin a practice is what lost sinners do. They run with “it” and say,
Charismatic Apostates – “none of them are of us”
Verse 19 of 1 John 2:18-19 speaks of Charismatic Apostates:
“19 They went out from us [seeming at first to be Christians], but they were not really of us [because they were not truly born again and spiritually transformed];
for if they had been of us, they would have remained with us; but they went out [teaching false doctrine], so that it would be clearly shown that none of them are of us.”

“He has a morbid interest in controversial questions and disputes about words“
“…men who are corrupted in mind and deprived of the truth,
“…who think that godliness is a source of profit [a lucrative, money-making business…]” – 1 Timothy 6:3-5
Teachers faithful to Jesus (like Timothy) are told:
“instruct certain individuals not to teach any different doctrines, 4 nor to pay attention to legends (fables, myths) and endless genealogies….”
– 1 Timothy 1:3-7

And he who does not take his cross [expressing a willingness to endure whatever may come] and follow Me [believing in Me, conforming to My example in living and, if need be, suffering or perhaps dying because of faith in Me] is not worthy of Me. – Matthew 10:38
Jesus calls us to repentance of sin, not acceptance of it. He expects us to conform to righteousness, not conform to the world
Conforming to the world

Practicing, walking in …sin
There are dire consequences for walking in sin. Accepting a sin as God’s will for you – is a Hell of a way to go.
Put quite starkly: If you support what is actually evil in the eyes of Holy Holy God, you are unworthy of coming into God’s Heaven. You do not meet the standard of God’s Holy Holy Kingdom. Think you will sneak in anyway??

Gifts by the Spirit
In 1 Corinthians 12 the Apostle Paul gives specific teaching about the “varieties of spiritual gifts” and the “varieties of ministries and service”. See: 1 Corinthians 12, Ephesians 4:11-14, Romans 12:3-9.
I am not teaching here on “the gifts” (that’s a whole ‘nother study), but it is important to note that all gifts are done through us by the power of the indwelling Spirit. Right?
What is relevant here now is that whatever you believe about cessationism or continuationism, “the gifts” are from the Holy Spirit – not by our own power. We must move with the Holy Spirit in our given gifts. It is He that empowers “the gifts”.
If some of the gifts were temporary, then beware. Be aware that if the “charismatic gifts” are no longer being imparted by the Spirit, then it follows that those who practice those gifts are working without the Holy Spirit – if He indeed allowed those gifts to be done away with.
Thus, if we work those gifts – we can be working in the flesh, in disobedience to God. Scary thought.
* If the Holy Spirit no longer has apostles, then their words are their own words, not God’s. So when that so-called apostle “speaks forth” or gives a predictive type prophecy — he/she is not of God, and God is against them.
* If the Holy Spirit no longer gives a “word of knowledge” or “word of encouragement”, etc, then he/she is not of God, and God is against them.
Dare to Stand Apart
Can you dare to part ways with the paganism of apostate teachings? Protect your faith. Protect the eternal destination of your families: just walk away. Find a church faithful to Scripture.
See: | About staying true & faithful to Jesus |
| Jesus will reject many “Christians” |
We are warned about the abuse of authority in the church. Scripture says to not let church authorities “lord it over you” (Matthew 20:25-28, Mark 10:42-45, 1 Peter 5:1-8).
We do not need any person to “lay hands” on us in order for the Spirit to move inside us. There is no Scripture teaching leaders to “lay hands on” people, nor to “slay them in the Spirit”, nor to heal someone, and so forth. Jesus did it to heal (Luke 4:40; Mark 8:23). But that was Him, not us. 6
During the early church period some received the Holy Spirit by the laying on of hands by Peter and John (Acts 8:18), but that was never advocated by the apostles. That does not make the practice normal for us (Hebrews 6:2).
There were “miraculous signs” and laying on of hands, “attesting signs and great miracles taking place” (Acts 8 verses 6 and 13):
6 The crowds gathered and were paying close attention to everything Philip said, as they heard [the message] and saw the [miraculous] signs which he was doing [validating his message].
And, miraculously, Philip was “beamed up” like in Star Trek! Acts 8:39-40
“…the Spirit of the Lord [suddenly] took Philip [and carried him] away [to a different place]; and the eunuch no longer saw him, but he went on his way rejoicing.
40 But Philip found himself at [f]Azotus….
– Acts 8:39-40
All the signs – or just what they can fake?
So does your church guru have all the Scriptural signs happening… or just some worked-up contrivances? MerWeb
The “parlour trick” is one worked-up contrivance they love to repeat. They read the crowd, have close associates gather facts about visitors and sick folk… and then act it up: “I sense the Spirit is telling me someone here is struggling with…”, they say dramatically.
And thus the preacher elevates himself in the esteem others have for him as a Spirit-filled leader. But it is all a contrivance. The reality is that the Spirit is not even in them 1 John 2:18-19. The Holy Spirit only resides in true believers.

Why do I write about this so much? I am extremely concerned for the millions who are being misled into apostasy. Instead of coming to the knowledge of salvation in Jesus, they are flocking to a belief in a false christianity
– a faith that does not – save.
Scary thought: Many are “not truly born again and spiritually transformed” (1 John 2:18-19). Family, friends, neighbors… are being led astray.
– Source: The Holy Spirit only resides in true believers.
They teach “laying on of hands”, and “speaking in tongues” — but do they require all the “attesting signs and great miracles” and the ability to be carried away physically to another place like Philip? Acts 8:39-40 If you have one sign – why not more?
Establish the validity of His Gospel *See “attesting signs” search
If one sign – why not the others? There is no precedence for grabbing one or two. God used miracles and the miraculous to establish the validity of His Gospel during the early church days. It is not taught as normal for us to do later, in these days. And nobody does. They pick and choose.
Receiving His Spirit upon salvation is enough! Expect the Scriptural — not the phony replica of what truly happened in the early church as attesting signs.
Some teach that a special filling of the Spirit must follow salvation. But do they do it exactly like God did it at Pentecost? No. They pick and choose. They pick-out the Pentecost features they can manipulate. A second filling is not taught in Scripture. Examine the Scriptures for yourself.
God made attesting signs *See “attesting signs” search at Pentecost to show us He was fulfilling the prophecy of Jesus. Do Charismatics do all those attesting signs? No.
It stands to reason, God does not require those signs now. Walk away from churches that act as if only the “spiritual leader” can do “the things of the Spirit”. See: The Gurus in Christian Churches.
Today’s “Christian” gurus also err — so visibly, that they reveal themselves as not of us, so profoundly into error that they are not the sheep of Jesus, but rather just more goats of another flock, not “the sheep of my pastures”, as Jesus taught. See: Jeremiah 23:1, John 10:23-30.
– Source: The Gurus in Christian Churches
Does your “church guru” have all these attesting, miraculous signs of Pentecost happening when they lay hands on you, slay in the Spirit, and fill you with the Spirit? Or have they grabbed just one or two signs?
What nonsense, these misinterpretations. A whole culture has developed around poached references to “charismatic gifts” – distorting what God intended.
Signs God Performed at Pentecost Acts 2:
God did not intend for “the Pentecost experience” to be normative throughout the future church. It was a demonstration of the coming of the Holy Spirit that Jesus had promised.
Do you do one of these, but not do “the whole Pentecost package”?
The Complete Pentecost Experience
- “…suddenly a sound came from heaven like a rushing violent wind
- “it filled the whole house where they were sitting
- “There appeared to them tongues resembling fire
- “which were being distributed [among them]
- “they [tongues resembling fire] rested on each one of them [as each person received the Holy Spirit]
- “And they were all filled [that is, diffused throughout their being] with the Holy Spirit
- “and began to speak in other [b]tongues (different languages), as the Spirit was giving them the ability to speak out [clearly and appropriately].
- “each one was hearing those in the upper room speaking in his own language or dialect.
- “[Among us there are] Parthians, Medes and Elamites, and people of Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and [c]Asia [Minor], 10 Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the districts of Libya around Cyrene, and the visitors from Rome, both Jews and proselytes (Gentile converts to Judaism), 11 Cretans and Arabs
“—we all hear them speaking
in our [native] tongues
about the mighty works of God!”
– Acts 2:Verse 9
________________
Acts 2:1-11
“When the day of [a]Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place, 2 and suddenly a sound came from heaven like a rushing violent wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting.
3 There appeared to them tongues resembling fire, which were being distributed [among them], and they rested on each one of them [as each person received the Holy Spirit].
4 And they were all filled [that is, diffused throughout their being] with the Holy Spirit
and began to speak in other [b]tongues (different languages), as the Spirit was giving them the ability to speak out [clearly and appropriately].
The complete Pentecost experience
Does your church practice the complete Pentecost experience or… just one or two convenient practices? Is the exact Pentecost tongues experienced – or do you explain it away and just do some other “Charismatic” NAR type “speaking in tongues”? (Note: The Pentecost tongues is not what Charismatics practice today.)
Many have to be taught how to do it (they give lessons on “how to speak in tongues”)! How genuine is that?!
Were you taught “how to speak in tongues? What what what!? If the Spirit does it – does He need help? Not at all: no training was needed at Pentecost! The people just did it. How? – “As the Spirit was giving them the ability to speak out [clearly and appropriately]” (v4). The Spirit does it if He wants to. And if not, then …why work-it-up on your own?
The Spirit gave them “the ability”… not the apostles!
Those listening on THAT Pentecost day asked “how is it that each of us hears in our own language or native dialect?” Upon being filled with the Spirit the Christians spoke to the people present – “in their own language“.
What about you? Is that what you practice? Do you speak to the people present – “in their own languages” as at Pentecost? Or is it a different experience from that of THAT day?
We should practice true teachings of Scripture. Many Charismatic practices have been established by errant church leaders. Why? Shouldn’t we should be seeing “the whole Pentecost package”!? But what we are seeing from Charismatic churches is them practicing only what they can work-up in the flesh. They even have classes to “learn how to speak in tongues”.
Charismatics can not perform Pentecost signs
Charismatics cannot reproduce what God did: specific real-life, visible miracles.
1. Cannot… Have a sound come from heaven suddenly like a rushing violent wind
2. Cannot… Have the wind fill the whole house where they were sitting
3. Cannot… Make tongues resembling fire appear to them all
4. Cannot… Distribute the tongues of fire among them
5. Cannot… Have the tongues resembling fire to rest on each one of them as each person received the Holy Spirit
6. Cannot… Cause that “they were all filled [that is, diffused throughout their being] with the Holy Spirit
7. Cannot… Cause that each begins to speak in other [b]tongues (different languages), as the Spirit was giving them the ability to speak out [clearly and appropriately].
8. Cannot… Cause that each begins to speak in real languages so that “each one was hearing those in the upper room speaking in his own language or dialect.”
“—we all hear them speaking
in our [native] tongues
about the mighty works of God!”
– Acts 2:Verse 9

The Early Church Experiences
We can learn here 1 Peter 4:10–11, Ephesians 4:11-14, Romans 12:3-9, 1 Corinthians 12 about God’s gifts of the Spirit “the gifts, the achievements, the abilities, the empowering“. It is said that it is God who is “distributing to each one individually just as He chooses“.
We, individuals, do not choose what gift we are given. “He chooses.”
11 All these things [the gifts, the achievements, the abilities, the empowering] are brought about by one and the same [Holy] Spirit, distributing to each one individually just as He chooses.
– 1 Corinthians 12:11
“…abilities granted to Christians by God’s unmerited favor….”
– Verse 10 of 1 Peter 4:10–11
Wanting more spiritual gifts is fine “if you really want the more valuable gifts from God”. But, you cannot choose which – because it is He who grants them, not you yourself. “He chooses.”
You could say: Each is a “brought about“ gift – by God. So, if you don’t have “it”, don’t sweat it. God so decided. The truth is “Not everyone has…” it. 1 Corinthians 12:30-31
“31 But it is good if you really want the more valuable gifts from God.” 1 Corinthians 12:30-31 EASY
See “earnestly desire”… in one link or singly: 1 Corinthians 12:31, 1 Corinthians 14:1, 1 Corinthians 14:39.
It is a good thing to “earnestly desire and strive for the greater gifts” 1 Corinthians 12:30-31 AMP. The EASY puts it like this: “But it is good if you really want the more valuable gifts from God. Now I will show you a way that is better than anything else.”
30 Not everyone has the gifts to make sick people well. Not everyone can speak in different kinds of languages. Nor can everyone explain what messages in those languages mean. You know that.
“Now I will show you a way that is better than anything else.”
Paul then goes to explain “love“. Love is “a way that is better than anything else.” If you practice your gift but you fail to excercise “love”…then you are spinning your wheels: “that is worth nothing” 1 Corinthians 13:1 EASY. It is more important and valuable — to love others. Loving others is more important than all the gifts.
“So you must always want to love other people. Also, want very much to receive spiritual gifts from God. More than anything else, want to speak messages from God.”
– 1 Corinthians 14:1 EASY
Speaking God’s messages for the benefit of the church – is truly a godly high aspiration MerWeb: a strong desire to achieve something high or great; ambition – desire to achieve a particular end.
Faking the gift
So then we get into the shameful realm of faking the gift. Some are manipulating things to get people to admire them, to hold them in high esteem. And some are peer shamed, pressured in a group, so they fake it.
And what if some of the gifts have ceased? See more about Cessationism, Continuationism in this footnote: 7
Charismatics try to speak in tongues even if the Spirit has not given them the gift. But Scripture is clear: “Not all speak in tongues.”
Why does God not do all the Pentecost experience every time a new believer is saved and gets filled by the Holy Spirit (or at least the 8 signs listed above). Acts 19 relates other early church practices and experiences. “11 God was doing extraordinary and unusual miracles by the hands of Paul.”
But they are not indicated anywhere in Scripture as normative for the church. It was a Pentecost thing.
Once again we see people forcing God to do what He has not said He would do. Like: Making God Speak.
In that moment “what I think…is what God in me is thinking”. My thoughts are God’s words. And so I speak out loud what is on my mind because they are the Words of God.”
If it was “normative”, then: Why do so many follow just one or two practices — but not perform a miraculous sign or create tongues of fire above their heads? Maybe only because they can’t imitate THAT?
You can see this if you examine Scripture closely.
Charismatic Practices that are not normative
* It is not normative to pick and choose our favored experiences from the early church.
* It is not normative to say “God has told me…” when all you do is make-up your own words. If we do that we begin to leave the normative Gospel of Jesus as taught by the early church apostles. God is against that.
* It is not normative to have “a word of encouragement” direct from God – and then just make-up your own words from your own thinking. God is against that.
* It is not normative to predict a future event… and then be wrong, say “I’m sorry…”, and continue on as if nothing happened.
* It is not normative to have to lay hands on someone for them to receive the Holy Spirit. (Acts 19:2-6)
* It is not normative to wait for the filling of the Spirit. That was only in the initial stages of God establishing His early church. The filling is immediate, not a “special blessing”. (Acts 19:2-6)
“I am against you”, God says
God is against those who misrepresent Him, against those who fake having God speak directly to them. He is against those who supposedly claim to have a predictive prophecy from God – but the truth is it’s just their own imaginations working overtime. He is against those who claim a new revelation from God – when it is only their subjective thinking with their own imaginations.
God is against whatever is not His will. Are you sure you are in His will?

This is an appeal to NAR-type Charismatic people. Scripture gives the ultimate grim outlook for so-called Christians that adhere to the apostate NAR-type doctrines and practices. The scariest thing about them? “Another Gospel” from wayward false teachers does not get you to Heaven!
__________
The Gurus in Christian Churches
Excerpt: Do not let church authorities “lord it over you” (Matthew 20:25-28, Mark 10:42-45, 1 Peter 5:1-8). We do not need any person to “lay hands” on us in order for the Spirit to move inside us. Walk away from churches that act as if only the “spiritual leader” can do “the things of the Spirit”.
Today’s “christian” gurus also err — so visibly, that they reveal themselves as not of us, so profoundly into error that they are not the sheep of Jesus, but rather just more goats of another flock, not “the sheep of my pastures”, as Jesus taught. See: Jeremiah 23:1; John 10:23-30.
Warnings by Paul to Timothy about falling away
What is “sound doctrine” and what is a a “different doctrine” – 1 Timothy 6:3-5, 1 Timothy 1:3-7
Pure Gospel – nothing added, nothing taken out
“Those who are people of faith” Excerpt: People follow way different “faiths”. Is your faith type following Jesus and what He taught? Is it truly yours? What makes you think that your type of “faith” is acceptable by Jesus? It’s certainly worth testing it. Eternally worth it!
Your thinking or God’s Word…There are seemingly endless faith types out there: NAR Christians, Mormons Wretched: The Scary History of Mormonism, Jehovah Witnesses, Islam Christian Answers Regarding Islam, Krishna, Buddha… and on and on they go.
The idea that they all end up in the same Holy Kingdom is irrational and stupididiotic! How could all these contradicting beliefs refer to one God? That is illogical.
Beware: Jesus taught that there is “the faith” that saves (His Gospel), and there is “another faith” that does not save. Did your faith save you? The faith type where “anything goes” is a deceiving faith, not a saving faith.
Good News! God declassified certain sins!? Excerpt: Did your church tell you this? God declassified certain sins! It’s somewhat like airlines say, “It is now permitted to walk around [the planet with these practices].” That is what some “Christians” are saying these days. And literally millions fall for it. But it’s malarky.
“They were not really of us“ – 1 John 2:19: “none of them are of us”. 1 John 2:18-19 explains why so many are so critical of true believers:
“19They went out from us
[seeming at first to be Christians],
but they were not really of us
[because they were
not truly born again
and spiritually transformed]”

And don’t miss Luke 13:27 and this – Ephesians 4:17-19.
NOTE: Don’t rely on “once saved always saved” theology. I believe this, but….
The very clear warning to “believers in Jesus” is: Do not turn away from the faith given to us by the written Word of God.
“…in later times
some will turn
away from the faith,
paying attention instead
to deceitful and seductive spirits
and doctrines of demons….”
1 Timothy 4: verses 1-2
But the [Holy] Spirit explicitly and unmistakably declares that in later times some will turn away from the faith, paying attention instead to deceitful and seductive spirits and doctrines of demons, 2 [misled] by the hypocrisy of liars whose consciences are seared as with a branding iron [leaving them incapable of ethical functioning]….

Comment by Craig to article: “From my perspective, false signs and wonders follow false doctrine, faulty Christology in particular. At root, modern hyper-charismaticism is neognostic, with a separationist Christology. That is, Jesus is only “Christ” by virtue of “the anointing”, aka “Christ anointing”. This fits the definition of antichrist per John’s first epistle (1 John 2:22, 4:1-3).”

They will hold to their unusual behavior or belief — inspite of any rational argument by others made against that belief. For more, read: Cognitive Dissonance.
When a delusion is created as predicted in 2 Thessalonians 2…You are in a delusion
“For our appeal
does not come from delusion
or impure motives,
nor [is it motivated] by
deceit
[our message is complete, accurate,
and based on the truth
—it does not change].”
–1 Thessalonians 2:3

* Wikipedia search: New Apostolic Reformation. The New Apostolic Reformation (NAR) or Neo-Apostolicism is a Christian supremacist[1] theological belief and controversial movement associated with the far right[2] that combines elements of Pentecostalism, evangelicalism, and the Seven Mountain Mandate to advocate for spiritual warfare to bring about Christian dominion over all aspects of society and end or weaken the separation of church and state.
NAR leaders often call themselves apostles and prophets. The movement is heavily associated with C. Peter Wagner, who coined the term and founded the movement’s characteristic networks.[3] Wagner himself described the NAR as “the most radical change in the way of doing church since the Protestant Reformation.”[4].
- About two masters
Matthew 6:24 “No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon [money, possessions, fame, status, or whatever is valued more than the Lord].” - These *articles contain the warning, “exactly quote His Words“:
* About rejecting prophecying and special words of knowledge Excerpt:“In Old Testament times “spoken revelations” (as it is called here in verse 20) were communicated from God with His exact words. Today’s NARers are being taught “Just say what comes to mind. It’s okay to be wrong….” That practice is unbiblical and evil in the sight of God. See references to this in one link. Since that is what they are taught, they all are doing it.”
* Getting into the miraculous Excerpt:
“Have you pondered the ramifications, the deadly fallout – of claiming to speak for God, but when you speak, you know deep down inside that they are merely your words?
Here is a horrible thought:
I go serving all of my life, but actually I have rejected Christ through counterfeit beliefs, and am now actually following “deceitful spirits and doctrines of demons” — and I end up at Judgement Day with Christ saying to me: “…‘I never knew you….’”* Why God is against me IF I claim my words are God’s own Excerpt:
“I am so very, very concerned. Some churches lead their people to declare that the words they say are the actual “words of God”. This is a very serious issue for folk who give heed to the NAR type churches. Do you attend one?
Are you (by your approving attendance there) authorizing mere men and women with the supernatural ability to speak for God – His exact words? Or, you yourself? Why would God give you “inexact” or “untrue” words to share?
Are your words
ever “exact words of God” —
as Old Testament
prophet standards require?”* The controversy of God speaking to you directly Excerpt:
This article lists site articles (a series) – dealing with this theme.
“Why fake it? Why speak your own words that you make up — and then claim they are God’s Words? God is against you. Can you imagine that? You really want that?”
* Pretending their word is God’s word Excerpt:
“Her prophets are reckless and treacherous men; Her priests have profaned the sanctuary; They have done violence to the law [by pretending their word is God’s word]. – Zephaniah 3: verse 4
“Prophesying falsely is rampant in some churches. We all should follow New Testament parameters based on the OT principles (Deuteronomy 18:15-22 and other OT passages) – along with our new covenant from Christ in this present “age of grace”. There should be definite “removal” and “restoration” guidelines established for when prophets go awry.”
“But, even though we now are in an “age of grace” and we no longer stone sinners — the principle still stands. True prophets of God do not blunder and falsely proclaim a word as being from God.” [Can you imagine Samuel or Elijah “falsely proclaiming”? Not a chance!]
It is a serious mistake to falsely claim your words are God’s words. God is against you who do this. See: Deuteronomy 13:5, Ezekiel 13:8, Ezekiel 13:9, Luke 11:52, 1 John 4:5.
A Great Apostasy is predicted 2 Thessalonians 2:1-3. Whether it is belief in an idol, or belief in a false teaching of today, according to the Bible: It is a delusion.
- people believe a lie (Psalm 62:9)
- people’s customs and decrees are just mere exercises in futility (Jeremiah 10:3)
- people are absolutely “irrational and stupid and foolish” because of their disciplined practice toward something (their “idol”) that is, in reality, simply “ridiculous, empty and worthless” (Jeremiah 10:8)
- people “become stupid and brutelike, without knowledge [of God]” (Jeremiah 51:17-18)
- their “goldsmith” – leaders who actually form the delusionary practice (Jeremiah 51:17-18)
- are shamed by what they create
- what they create is a total lie
- what they create has no true life or spirit
- what they create is “worthless (empty, false, futile)”,
- what they create is “a work of delusion and worthy of derision“
- (Jeremiah 51: verse 18) “In the time of their inspection and punishment they will perish.” When the appointed time arrives for the delusion to be inspected and shown for what it really is – the punishment will be that they will perish – eternally.

No sane person (you and me) would allow themselves to be deceived and tricked, fooled. Right? We would see it coming and avoid being “deluded”. Right? Wrong.
The Apostasy. There is a predicted end times great Delusion coming, called the Apostasy, “the great rebellion, the abandonment of the faith by professed Christians” 2 Thessalonians 2: verses 2-5 AMP. This delusion will happen to sane, “professing Christians”. Beware, Paul says.
* When a delusion” is created as predicted in 2 Thessalonians 2
…apostasy is delusion, false teaching is delusion, idolatry is delusion, antithetical is delusion, heritical is delusion, NAR is delusion.
Excerpt: I hope you’re not into them! We learn in 2 Thessalonians 2:1-3 that a Great Apostasy is predicted to happen in the End Times.
And, you know? We are in that time already! That great apostasy is now. It is happening all around you. That apostasy is the NAR-type Charismatics. May be… that you are in it!.

Cessationism or Continuationism? | Craig at CrossWise | September 16, 2023 |
This fits the definition of antichrist per John’s first epistle (1 John 2:22, 4:1-3).”Teachings from GotQuestions.org
