There is a song that sometimes pleasantly wafts through my inner man MerWeb – waft: as if by the impulse of wind:
“Jesus is all the world to me….”
– I have no better friend
Jesus is all the world to me:
My life, my joy, my all.
He is my strength from day to day;
Without Him I would fall.
…He’s my Friend.

Highest level of friend
A friend at the highest level is willing to lay down their life for you. Jesus said this about that:
John 10:18 No one takes it away from Me, but I lay it down voluntarily. I am authorized and have power to lay it down and to give it up, and I am authorized and have power to take it back. This command I have received from My Father.”
There is no better friend than Jesus. He Himself said to those who follow Him: “I call you friends” The Voice.
John 15:15 AMP I do not call you servants any longer,
for the servant does not know
what his master is doing;
but I have called you [My] friends,
because I have revealed to you
everything that I have heard from My Father.
I’m so glad I’ve come to know Him. And now?
Now I belong to Jesus. I gave it all up for Him. How ’bout you, amigo? It is time to give it up for Jesus. Jesus is…
“the God
to whom I belong
and whom I worship”
– Acts 27:33
English Standard Version Anglicised
See: “The God to whom I belong and whom I worship”
Zechariah 4:6
Not by might, nor by power,
but by my Spirit,
says the Lord of hosts.

It astounds me that God calls His followers “friends”. Amazing grace. Sheer mercy. How else can you explain that?

Jesus predicted His death and resurrection – Luke 18:31-34
Excerpt: The Son of Man knew who He was. He explained it to His disciples.
Jesus said that He, the Son of Man, would suffer, die, and be resurrected Luke 18:31-34. His disciples then wrote all about it and about His divinity.
Long before His birth prophets spoke of Jesus the Messiah
You are my friends…Jesus said
Luke 7:34 The Son of Man has come eating and drinking, and you say, ‘Look, a man who is a glutton and a [heavy] wine-drinker, a friend of tax collectors and sinners [including non-observant Jews].’

What God is able to do in you – 2 Corinthians 9:8 Excerpt:
If we work with Him, God is able to be wonderfully powerful in us. Because His Spirit resides inside us, streaming from inside our insides… we can become totally sufficient for what life throws at us and still have “an abundance” for accomplishing good works and acts of love for those around us.
I’ve got that peace that passes understanding
What makes your prayers effective
It may be that I have offended God – so I have ineffective prayers and am wimpy
Got unconfessed sin? Harboring sin makes anyone’s prayers ineffective
When I pray I always want to have no sin
In this moment right now Jesus makes me perfect…relationally I stand perfect before Him
Pairing with God…An easy morning prayer to start it right
My simple frequent practice of repentance Excerpt:
Sin can break a relationship
Because I believe the Bible teaches sin can break a relationship, I’ve come to lean on a simple practice of frequent repentance with God. I want to always have my prayers answered favorably. And, the main thing: I so very much want to please God and be in right standing with Him.
Got the habit? It’s a good practice
Pray joyfully with thanks to God for He is good
Being 100% given over to Jesus Excerpt: Being faithful to Jesus – that is what we want, right? Being faithful – when the Rapture happens? (I really want to go on that ride!) I live for Jesus, and that is why I live with confidence. How ’bout you?
… accepting Jesus- plus some other is totally rejected by Jesus. That “other gospel” faith is the road that leads to the other place, not to God’s Home Heaven. See: Matthew 6:24. (See both: 2 Corinthians 11:4 and Galatians 1:7.)

Living it Deep – Luke 18:17 Excerpt:
The worst about life
is an end without Christ
abandoned desert heart
tender fatherless orphan…
He said “I give them eternal life”
I started that life
Jesus the Godman keeps it eternal
by His might I’m kept in His love
He promised to never leave me….
Got that attitude? – Luke 1:17 Excerpt: Only the righteous will enter Heaven. You know that, right?
Only logical. How could unforgiven dirty rotten sinners, vile to Jesus – like I used to be 1 Corinthians 6:11, enter God’s Holy Holy Place?
Not a chance in Hell!
What if I deceive myself all to Hell?…what do I have then!?
Salvation in Christ is beyond huge Excerpt:
We love to sing Amazing Grace. Wow! What a great song. So, what is it about God’s grace that is so amazing?
What’s so great about that?
Well, for me it’s a big deal that: no grace was owed us whatsoever. God Almighty did not have to save us. Holy God loathes sin. He could have just rubbed us out of existence and walked away – way away to another part of His immense creation.
So why did God offer His free grace to save us, all rotten sinners, in the first place? (Ephesians 1:4; Ephesians 2:1-9.) It is because He is full of mercy. It is because He loved us (John 3:13-18) from before “the get go” – before His Creation, before your creation, before my creation. He knew about my needy needy soul – and wooed me to Himself.
“But God, being [so very] rich in mercy,
because of His great
and wonderful love
with which He loved us…”
saved us
(Ephesians 2:4).
Through Grace and Sheer Mercy Excerpt: There is no way on earth that any of us can live to merit God’s forgiveness – His grace and His mercy. No way in hell. No way in the whole God-damned universe
[Read: Romans 5:12; Being God Damned] — because it is not good enough for holiness, Holy God. Without Christ, what am I? Certainly not holy – without fault. How can I hope to merit anything of God?
He chose me. With all of everything in His realms – He chose me. How can I fail to respond to that!? Amazing grace was all He needed to give to save a sinner like me. He came down to die for me. My response of confession and acknowledgement is all He requires.

A somewhat lengthy study of 1 Thessalonians 5
Some who are born again will strive to be more righteous. They will be more rewarded for it, (Revelation 22: verse 12) but even the most miserably failing follower will still enter the gates of heaven, “yet so as by fire”.
It’s as if his clothes were still a’ smokin’ when he went through the gates – ’cause all his works were burned up. That’s because God is the one that saves us, not us. We can do nothing to merit God’s salvation.
