Temper tantrum child
Want to displease God?
I rather think most of us want to please God. Upsetting Almighty God who has a huge legitimate wrath — would be foolish. But, like many the strong-willed, temper tantrum child, or the willful criminal who keeps going back to crime (2 Peter 2:22), we all mess with God time and time again.
Sins we love
Getting stuck in ruts of sin is easy. We do that by accepting what God does not. That is anathema.
How does Jesus respond to those who willfully practice sin?
15 So He said to them, “You are the ones who declare yourselves just and upright in the sight of men, but God knows your hearts [your thoughts, your desires, your secrets]; for that which is highly esteemed among men is detestable in the sight of God. – Luke 16:15

Homosexuality is pushed nowadays as “okay by God”. But actually, it is listed in the Bible right beside many other practices that are not pleasing to God. So what gives anyone the notion that it’s just alright by God?! Did Joshua Bassett say he is still a practicing homosexual? (1 Timothy 4:1-2). Yikes!
The practice of homosexual sex is “not okay by God” – any more than the practice of other sins. Temptation towards any sin — is NOT sinful. But, if we practice a sin we deny Christ, and the love of God is not in us. We fool our self (Luke 16:15). Those who are truly the sheep of His fold, seek Him with all of their heart (Luke 10:27).
Jesus’ Stance on Homosexual Sex
The stance of the Bible – is Jesus’ stance. See the lists in the Bible that show us what is what with Jesus. It is quite clear.
Claiming to be a Christian
* Like many an overweight pot-bellied person thinking he/she is just fine and dandy and healthy, but are not healthy per medical standards,
* Like many “people of faith” claim to have been saved by Jesus – but, per biblical standards “they remove their hearts far“, far away from God, and are thus not saved. They have a fake faith.

Practicing Contrary to God’s Standards
Want to displease God? That’s easy. Pick a sin – any sin from God’s sin lists and — go for it. The problem with this is: there are consequences. “The wages of sin is death.” We cannot practice anything contrary to God’s standards – without denying Christ.
For the wages of sin is death,
but the free gift of God
[that is, His remarkable,
overwhelming gift
of grace to believers]
is eternal life
in Christ Jesus our Lord.
– Romans 6:23
How to know if we have sinned
God is asking us to repent of our sins. Just as God listed 10 Commandments (Exodus 20) that would show mankind when they sin, He established various lists in the New Testament which show us when we sin.
Any sin on God’s lists is there to show us when we are contrary to the Gospel. Jesus and His disciples taught us how to please God, by showing us very clearly what does not.
There is no special sin
There is nothing special about any sin listed in Scripture. Each one is equally vile to Jesus. Each one goes against God’s holiness.
We might have a preference for one sin or another. We may even have a propensity toward one or more that “cleverly entangles us” (Hebrews 12:1). But giving-in to the practice, accepting it as “okay before God”… is to deny Christ. We reveal a “cracked heart” that never would yield 100% to Jesus. We show we are not in Christ.
We deny Jesus when we opt out of obedience to Him – and choose to go our separate way.
Jesus will not accommodate to your wishes and to your beliefs.
God will not adapt to you, fit into your agenda, nor let you suit yourself.
He is not obliged to you for anything. He is not trying to do you a favor.
He invites us to enter into His Kingdom. He does not promise to build you your own kingdom! The ditties “Have it your way” and “I did it my way…” do not apply to God’s way.

But the [Holy] Spirit explicitly and unmistakably declares that in later times some will turn away from the faith, paying attention instead to deceitful and seductive spirits and doctrines of demons,
2 [misled] by the hypocrisy of liars whose consciences are seared as with a branding iron [leaving them incapable of ethical functioning]”
Have you “turned away from the faith“?
God is asking you to repent. How great to know that God is easy, light-handed, gentle.
the kindness of God
leads you to repentance
