What was expected of us
When Mom and Dad would go away somewhere without us, they would often leave us with Kathy, our older sister. When they left, us four boys knew without a doubt what was expected of us: Kathy was in charge, and we were to behave as if Mom and Dad were right there with us.
Jesus did that. Jesus left. He went away “to prepare a place for us” (v1-3), and He promised that the Holy Spirit would come be with us (John 14:1-3, 16-17, 25-27). Do you know without a doubt what is expected of us?
With Jesus gone, throughout our day we count on His Spirit. He is with us – without fail if we are born again. He resides in us! (Romans 8:9-11 The Message version.) He teaches us how to “live our lives” – “how to behave” as members of His family.
Those how to’s found in the Bible are for common, ever day living in the mundane. God provided Scriptures so we know to live with godly practices, choosing “the ways of the Spirit”.
Reject Sin
Except for unbeliefism 1 it is truly true that all sins are forgiveable through Jesus. However, this forgiveness by God requires the sinner to repent with sincerity and truth. You most certainly do NOT get to Holy Heaven by sinning.
No repentance – no salvation. Keep ahold of a sin, and you keep ahold of God’s condemnation.
God’s grace teaches us to reject sin
*For idolaters, enlightened folks, and religious folks
that means: reject sin by turning away from religions and false gods
* For those who practice what is in God’s sin list
that means: reject sin by rejecting the world’s thinking and yeilding to God’s Think.
* For NAR-type Charismatics
that means: reject sin by rejecting the practice of what God is against: “I am against you”, God says 2
* For those who are already bound for the glories of Heaven
that means: reject sin by living a daily practice of choosing God’s way. This is the evidence of having been born again.
Because we were born again, His Spirit in us empowers and guides us, we are enabled to “live in the ways of the Spirit” (Romans 8:4). Living out our life is a moment to moment “agreeing with God to live righteous — “not live our lives in the ways of the flesh [guided by worldliness and our sinful nature]”.
See: Don’t let it (Romans 6:12-14) | Being Pleasing (2 Corinthians 5:6-10)
“…[live our lives]
in the ways of
the Spirit
[guided by His power].”
– Romans 8:4
One link: 1 Corinthians 2:16, Romans 8:4
In contrast, those who live a daily life of practicing what God has condemned… well, they live-out their life in disagreement with God. They could quote this Scripture without the not in it:
“us who do not live
our lives in the ways of the flesh
[guided by worldliness
and our sinful nature]”

Got a problem?
With God, you’ve got a real problem …if you are caught-up with a practice that the Lord has clearly condemned. Many many in the church are stuck right here, still in their sin, still needing a Savior — never having been truly saved. They think so… but aren’t.
The practice of sin, or what is called “living in sin”, is an eternal life problem! He has denounced specific “wrongs“. Are you practicing one? It’s not as if we don’t know. He has told us what they are – so we are all without excuse (Romans 1:18-23). The vital question then becomes:
Are you into any of them?
A “practice” is an act you consciously do. You “do” what you do on purpose. You know what it is.
Persistant sin
You can adamently “be against sinning” and yet still be in it. As believers we all are in a fight against sinning. But there is a vast difference between “practicing sin” (habitually accepting sin) and struggling against our “persistant sin” (with a persistent repenting of sin).
You are either one or the other:
1) Born again followers of Christ are saved, and continually repenting
— whereas
2) an unsaved churcher is not saved, becauses he/she practices their sin.
The one is persistently rejecting their sinfulness, whereas the other is (wickedly) perniciously accepting and practicing… still.
“persistant sin” vs “practicing sin”
A persistent sin is “the sin that easily entangles you”. Maybe no one knows you well enough to know, but you know what it is (or what they are). Scripture says to name it and repent of it.
Name it in your life: that “unnecessary weight and the sin which so easily and cleverly entangles”…me (Hebrews 12:1). 3
Being pleasing – not working my way. About past sins…
I remind myself on occasion with God’s Sin List, and God’s List of Unacceptables, or The Bad Fruit List… to see what I am up against. I work with His Spirit in me with My Checkoff List in my mind, to work daily to be in conformity with Him, to be pleasing to Him (not working my way to get saved). I do not freely allow myself to be conforming to the world, the flesh nor the Devil.
I “run with endurance and active persistence the race that is set before”…me. I’m in it to win it! What about you?
Hebrews 12:1
Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses [who by faith have testified to the truth of God’s absolute faithfulness], stripping off every unnecessary weight and the sin which so easily and cleverly entangles us, let us run with endurance and active persistence the race that is set before us
I run to win! Christ did. Do you?
The entangling “weight” vs the “practice”
“One who practices” is a “practioner” MirWeb: “to do or perform often, customarily, or habitually“. This person, the one who practices sin, has accepted the sin as okay with God, and thus reveals their “cracked heart”. Got a Cracked Heart? (Basically taught in Romans 7:1-13.)
This is not “a performance mentality” (mentioned by Paul Copan) 4 which purports (falsely) MirWeb that salvation is predicated on your works. That’s not happenin’. (Actually the “works” are necessary, but they do not save you. See more in James… starting with verse 1.)
Salvation is through grace and sheer mercy alone. However, that salvation never takes place if in that moment we are the type that “deliberately, knowingly, and habitually] practices sin”. The sinner must repent of the practices of sin in their life. That is a basic starting point of salvation. Or else? “No bueno.”
What you say | What you do | …the you inside
Getting “saved” by Jesus, is 100% a thing of the heart. If your life doesn’t follow your confession, then you did not get saved. Simple.
What good is that?…no bueno
If what you say does not get shown by what you do, well then — what good is that? What good was what you merely said? That faith? No good (James 2:18-26). Tragic for the many, many who live in error.
– Source: What being “saved” means
What is your heart streaming?
When we pray “a prayer of repentance” in “a conversion experience”, God knows our heart. It is bare open. And He does not ever accept that “conversion” if our heart is not repentant. He the Omniscient One knows anything “off” in a flash! Ever thought you could fool God?
God rejects any habitual sinner who is not turning away from sin. Salvation requires sincerity and truth with our repentance. Salvation is: to Turn from -and- Turn to Jesus. No turning… no salvation.
Absolutely makes sense. It’s just so simple, this free gift from God — so simple that many miss fulfilling the expectations from God. Very scary thought.
My soul is absolutely horrified
by the possibility of
being wrong with Jesus.
And I’m absolutely saddened
by the error many live
that denies them salvation,
forever.
You’ve heard of the empty suit pastor, MirWeb the empty suit fakers? Well, the empty robe scribes and Pharisees were plagued by “practicing sin”. Maybe those in charge — have a worse time with it? 5
“Woe to you, [self-righteous] scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you clean the outside of the cup and of the plate, but inside they are full of extortion and robbery and self-indulgence (unrestrained greed). – Matthew 23:25
A very apt question for all: Will you be turned away by Jesus?
21 “Not everyone who says to Me,
‘Lord, Lord,’
will enter
the kingdom of heaven,
but only
he who does the will
of My Father
who is in heaven.”
– Matthew 7:21
__________
Are there issues you are adamant about, those few pet peeves of yours, that perhaps are actually putting you into the realm of “living in sin“?
The “not-truly-saved”
Have you made decisions to accept sin in your life …what God calls sin?
– Adapted Source: Will you be turned away by Jesus?
See: Accepting What God Rejects
God is able – Are you willing?
Scripture makes it clear that God is able to forgive all wrongdoings of all repentant sinners, no exception. God is able…. But have you repented and turned away from your sin, seeking His salvation?
Scripture tells us: You are practicing sin if you accept sin in your life as “okay”. So the question is:
Is your “okay” – okay with God?
It is abundantly clear from 1 John 3:9 that the habitual sinner is not born again. You cannot “live a life characterized by sin” — and still be saved. Don’t be fooled. That is impossible, John is saying. It goes against what being saved means! See here:
No one
who is born of God
[deliberately, knowingly, and
habitually] practices sin…
he [who is born again]
cannot habitually
[live a life
characterized by] sin,
because he is
born of God
and longs to please Him.
– 1 John 3:9
On the contrary: The one who maintains a repentant heart – shows by that …his/her salvation was real.
We all continue to sin after salvation. Every one of us. If you persistently sin some “sin which so easily and cleverly entangles” you, but in that sin you are persistently rejecting it and repenting of it — that indicates the Holy Spirit resides in you and you are agreeing with Him that it is a sin to be rejected.
As His followers, day in and day out MirWeb we are fighting the good fight against the old nature. We can then rest assured we are not “practicing sin” for we are in the fight. We are secure in Him.
Once a person is changed into a new creature (2 Corinthians 5:17-21 NIV) …the battle is then to maintain our life holy, strong in Him.
Even after becoming a child of the King, and having our life made brand new, we have the option to ¨offer our body to sin¨(Romans 6) and shipwreck this life we live on earth (1 Timothy 1:19, Ezekiel 27:26). Once we are His, we are then to live in a manner that pleases our Lord Jesus Christ – not worldly desires, not our flesh, not the Devil – but Christ our Lord.

We “go”…as Jesus said
We “go”… and “sin no more” (John 8:11), as Jesus said to the woman caught in adultery (John 8:1-11). That is a repentant heart rejecting sin. That is a choice I work at. I go – and my aim is to sin no more.
Content to sin
That “sin no more” frame of mind is a huge difference from the sinner content to sin. Are you being content in your sin? Are you the one who just says
I “go” but …I go with who I am. “I know Jesus will not condemn me because He is a loving God.”
That is the frame of mind everyone takes with them on the big, broad, wide highway. Scary thought.
Maintain a repentant heart
Hopefully we eventually mature to the point that we leave behind that entanglement! (Hebrews 12:1) But, you know, maturity is not automatic. Getting older is. But we are in a fight against evil. Becoming more righteous is a growth process that we actively work at – or not (Ephesians 4:12-14). Don’t want to be a slave to sin!
16 Do you not know that when you continually offer yourselves to someone to do his will, you are the slaves of the one whom you obey, either [slaves] of sin, which leads to death, or of obedience, which leads to righteousness (right standing with God)?
– Romans 6:16
Our woolly lamb bum
…sitting on our bum…Proverbs 15:19, Ephesians 4:13, Ephesians 4:22-23
“The way of the lazy” – “until we all reach oneness” – “put off your old self” – “be continually renewed” – “growing spiritually to become a mature believer“
We don’t please God by just sitting on our woolly lamb bum MirWeb. We all have one. But… don’t just take it as it comes, “sittin’ on the dock of the Bay, wasting time” (The Dock of the Bay – Song by Otis Redding).
We are to be actively growing, “reaching”, “exercising”. The truth is: Being pleasing to God takes effort, a stubborn discipline that refuses to accept sin. I refuse to sit idly by.

Proverbs 15:19 NASB
The way of the [a]lazy one is like a hedge of thorns,
But the path of the upright is a highway.
Ephesians 4:13
“[growing spiritually] to become a mature believer, reaching to the measure of the fullness of Christ [manifesting His spiritual completeness and exercising our spiritual gifts in unity].”
Ephesians 4:22-23
22 that, regarding your previous way of life, you put off your old self [completely discard your former nature], which is being corrupted through deceitful desires, 23 and be continually renewed in the spirit of your mind [having a fresh, untarnished mental and spiritual attitude],
Our struggle with sinning
Even being truly saved, we all still struggle with our old nature, as Paul taught in Ephesians 4 (v1-32).
Did you read that? Wow. What we all struggle against! That is quite the list. And there are others. See: God’s sin list, God’s list of unacceptables, The bad fruit list, Understanding “wrong”.
God’s Normal
Paul teaches we are no longer “slaves to sin“. We can be. Certainly can. We can be slaves – but we are to “put off” sins. Don’t let it reign! Don’t be slaves.
Romans 6:12
“Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body”
Romans 6:6
We know that our old self [our human nature without the Holy Spirit] was nailed to the cross with Him, in order that our body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be slaves to sin.
Our “old self [our human nature without the Holy Spirit] was nailed to the cross….” Scripture teaches: sinning is not normal for the born again. We are capable of choosing obedience. If we are living in the power of His Spirit we can refuse sin. 6
Verses 19-20
“…There are some,
you know,
who by relaxing their grip
and thinking anything goes
have made a thorough mess
of their faith….”
– 1 Timothy 1:15-20 MSG
Paul goes further with this, saying to “put off your old self” and “be continually renewed“:
Ephesians 4:22-23
22 that, regarding your previous way of life, you put off your old self [completely discard your former nature], which is being corrupted through deceitful desires, 23 and be continually renewed in the spirit of your mind [having a fresh, untarnished mental and spiritual attitude],
If you don’t think we Christians have to battle the Old Nature in us: Think again! Read the lists above again. And read Romans 7.
It is “through Jesus Christ our Lord” that we are saved, but then — it is only as we daily turn to God for His strength that we are able to not sin. That is why we are exhorted to “pray without ceasing” (1 Thessalonians 5:17). Turn and keep praying to God — all day.
24 Wretched and miserable man that I am! Who will [rescue me and] set me free from this body of death [this corrupt, mortal existence]? 25 Thanks be to God [for my deliverance] through Jesus Christ our Lord!
Life “characterized by sin”
The opposite of a born again believer sinning persisistently… is the not-so-born-again person who practices sin. This is the one who accepts it, not repenting of it.
A classic example is the mafia hit man who practices assassination (like in the movie, The Godfather). He kills, then goes to the priest for confession of it, but then returns to his evil work… without truly “turning from” and “turning to” Jesus. He “confesses”, but …not really. This one keeps it. He is one who clearly lives a life “characterized by sin”.
Is your life “characterized by sin”? You most likely are not an assassin. But: What does your lifestyle say to God? What about “your persona” online, your social media comments, your ways, your views? Taking hate to Holy Heaven? What you practice day in and day out — is God pleased?
A life characterized by a state of unrepentant sin cannot inherit the Holy Kingdom of God. Ain’t happen’ folks. So sad that so many are in that state. You may “like” Jesus, but if you are not following Jesus – salvation is missing. Very scary thought.
The habitual practice of sin comes from a lost soul.
The habitual hate by a professing believer (or habitual sin of any kind), is evidence of a dichotomous heart. And the message of the Bible is: No dichotomous heart gets to heaven. Not a one. That is what Christ died for – that we might have changed hearts. You can’t go on living like “before Christ”, like the world.
– Source: Hating is life changing – eternal life changing. Scary thought.

Posing as Christian. PIC: Thrasher.Poser.Fake.
Are you genuine or false?
The assassin keeps his sin, practicing it. The fake believer keeps his sin, practicing it. The truly saved believer… repents and is forgiven.
Unlike the assassin, unlike the faker, the born again believer is repentant and persistent in his rejection of his sin. Rejection of your sin is part of “enduring to the end” (Matthew 24:13). See in one link or: 1 John 3:9, John 3:4-7, 1 Peter 1:2-6, 1 Peter 1:21-23).
Sinners vs living in sin
Are you living in sin? If you are “practicing” any sin (habitually doing what is contrary to God’s stated will) — then Scripture says what is said here:
*You are still in your sin and the Truth is not in you (1 Corinthians 15:17, John 8:47 AMP, John 8:47 MSG, John 8:44, ).
*You are a tare, merely standing amongst the true wheat. As Jesus said, “You are of your father the devil, and it is your will to practice the desires [which are characteristic] of your father.” – John 8:44

Me, when I die – Forgiven Excerpt: After our salvation moment, the veracity of our salvation is evidenced by the testimony of our life as we follow Him (Colossians 3:1-4; 1 Peter 1) If we consequently do not follow Christ, it is evidence that we did not truly yield to Him.

Jesus saves and Jesus condemns
Consequences of supporting evil Excerpt: Remaining under the condemnation of God
No matter what your religious alignment, no matter what “Sinners Prayer” you fumbled: you remain under the condemnation of God. Scary thought. Whether it is just one thing, or a whole slew of non-alignments… you are lacking what it takes. Only repentance frees us.
See: Legally Damned – Legally Forgiven | God Damned Believers …unworthy of coming into God’s Kingdom – because they do not meet up to the standard of His Holiness.
*NOTE: God’s standard of holiness is to be totally forgiven in Christ, to where “our life is hidden in Christ” (Colossians 3:3), thus holy, thus without sin. It is a “positional” holiness – until we are raptured or resurrected.

Take a stance on homosexuality – like Jesus did | Excerpt: Anything contrary to God’s expressed will has to be carefully avoided. Homosexuality, for example, is pushed nowadays as “okay by God”. But actually, it is listed in the Bible right beside many other practices that are not pleasing to God. Temptation towards any sin is NOT sinful. But, if we practice a sin, then we deny Christ. Want to please God in all you do?

One thing you lack Excerpt: Only Jesus Saves Sinners
“And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among people by which we must be saved [for God has provided the world no alternative for salvation].” – Acts 4:12
Instead of a world of alternatives… God provides one choice: Your Own Way or Jesus’ Only Way. It is quite simple actually.
You have a choice.
1. Hell for those who choose to rebel and reject Him to follow their sin…
2. Heaven for those who choose to repent and reject their sin and follow Him with sincerity and truth.
This is Jesus talkin’. He is knockin’ at your door because He cares about you. He cared enough to die on a cross to save you (John 3:14-21). Are you walkin’ away from that?
Fickle Piccadillies Excerpt: …where I bend and accept picayune “nominal sins”. There are no picayune “small sins” MirrWebster. They float in-n-out and get stuck in our soul. One sin can keep you from Heaven — so how “small” was it in retrospect after a trillion eons living in God’s place for Satan, still condemned? …Thank God for His forgiveness when we repent.
My Check-Off List Excerpt: Saved by Grace
I know I did not get saved by God based on merit, being sinless. Jesus saved me by His grace way back so many years ago – not because I got it all together for Him. And I’m still saved, and still not sinless! But now that I am His – I strive to follow Him in all my ways. I want to be what Jesus wants to see in me.

Practicing sin – not Following Christ Excerpt: Are you practicing sin? Is there sin you constantly practice? Have you grown accustomed to accepting [“your” sin] as okay with God? Are you okay with the practices of your life?
Most importantly: Is God okay with your practices?
Scripture teaches us very clearly what is obviously …NOT following Christ. In fact, we are warned that “that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.” You are not following Christ if this is characteristic of you: Galatians 5:16-21.

What is a kundalini spirit? | From GotQuestions | Excerpt: Scripture gives us no reason to believe there is any specific entity named Kundalini or that Christians have some specific ability to rebuke or exorcise it. Nor does the Bible indicate that we’re meant to diagnose spiritual problems in such a way.
Whether or not some demonic entity is directly involved in a person’s spiritual struggle is irrelevant. Remedying the situation is not helped by inventing a mythology of demons and turning God’s Word into a sourcebook of wild speculations. Prayer, discipleship, and obedience to God are the only meaningful answers to spiritual problems.

Elevating the Word over experience Excerpt: What trumps what? Are you careful to closely examine what your pastor teaches, comparing what is said — with what you read in the Bible? It should be a weekly habit.
Many pastors and common folk equate experiences they have – with Scripture given to us by God. This leads to false assumptions about God – resulting in false teachings and false expectations about God.

Also, exposing the ‘prayer-less-ness’ in all this circus,(by continuous declarations) is so necessary.

John 12:46… “rely on the truth of My message“
The Gift by His Precious, Undeserved Grace Excerpt: The Galatians 5 Warning…and others.
The Bible just flat-out lists all the sins the writers could think of. Each sin, alone even, separates us from His grace – eternally. And then Paul fills-in between the lines, saying, “…and other things like these.” Oops. Well, there goes that loophole many hope to use (“Oh but, but, that’s not exactly what I did….”)! See: Luke 10:29 MSG
There is absolutely no loophole, no sin we practice – on purpose, as a way of life, in “our lifestyle”, which God accepts. Nada. Zilch. Jesus warned He will reject any person of that ilk — even those who “tried Jesus”. To those self-deceived, Jesus quotes Himself from the future (another warning) when He will say on that day of reckoning:
And then I will declare to them publicly, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me [you are banished from My presence], you who act wickedly [disregarding My commands].’

- I am currently processing through a persistent sin I have struggled against for ages. Ever since I turned 16 and began to drive a car, you could say I have been speeding consistently, breaking the law. At 72 now, I still find myself speeding down the road (“…just staying up with the traffic”, as everyone says). Talk about “the sin which so easily and cleverly entangles“! I have NOT accepted that sin. I confess it as NOT okay with God. I’m a workin’ more on with speed. How pernicious – the entanglement!

- Have you looked for God? Or are you still sneering, and so dull, still unrepentant, rejecting Jesus, holding to your errors to the death, consorting with evil, ignorant of your cracked heart, so gullible and tolerant you let empty suit fakers walk all over you with their lies — and follow them, turning away from a most-loving God.
