Introduction …about salvation
Explaining Salvation’s Pure Gospel Verses
The most important part of life on earth, bar none, is: be ready to join Jesus in the next. To join Jesus there, the Bible says, we must get there according to the instructions He made for us. We cannot make-up our own.
He made Heaven. He made the Entrance. He is the Keeper of the Gate. He has told us how to get there.
His Way is sure. There is no point in following anyone else! What do they know? Jesus knows it all!
God has made an “If – Then” Promise. The Bible shows us He is unquestionably trustable.
Getting saved is fast and easy: Humbly confess with Him in prayer, repent of your sins, and ask Him to save you. Jesus saves sinners like me and you. He is gracious beyond words.
John the disciple of Jesus, makes an extremely impacting point about salvation:
These things I have written
to you who believe
in the name of the Son of God
[which represents
all that Jesus Christ is and does],
so that you will know
[with settled and absolute knowledge]
that you [already] have eternal life.
– 1 John 5:13 Amplified version
To join Jesus or: to get saved, the Bible asks that we believe in Him. Makes sense.
From this verse, we learn that “believing” is not an “Oh hum, oh yes, that’s good. I know”…response. The Devil did that – and he is damned all to Hell!
* In the post titled What saves you,
read this section for clarity: What saves forever——–
The “all-in” type of believing
Salvation requires a special type of “believing”. No ordinary believing will do. Believing for salvation, in the biblical sense, is accepting Him. Accepting “all that Jesus Christ is and does“…not just bits and pieces of what we expecially like.
Believing in Jeuss means – “being all in with all that you are” Source: Promises God makes about your salvation.
Are you all in for Jesus?
It’s all or nothing
Whew! I sure would hate to be all in for Hell where nothing good exists!
Jesus gave us specific parameters: To be saved we absolutely must give our all to follow all of what Jesus taught. It is not a matter of being perfect, all righteous. It is a matter of the heart. Giving Him all of it.
Accept all of Jesus
with all of what you are
– and you will be saved
What you mixed-in
Following a recipe, what do you get if you leave-out something? Well, you certainly don’t get a Tri-tip roast for dinner… if you put in a pork loin! The recipe was wrong.
The eternal stakes are higher for salvation, but the same principle applies. Many folk seem to be more exacting with their cooking – than with what they have mixed into their faith.
Believe the eyewitness witness
John was an original eyewitness witness and was with Jesus as one of His twelve disciple for all the three years of Jesus’ ministry. And so were the other New Testament writers.
John got it. John got the message of Jesus – straight from Jesus! He was right there! And so were the others.
The apostles and disciples saw Jesus right there in the flesh. We must be on-guard to reject apostate teachings and reject where false teachings come from.
Today’s apostate leaders never saw Jesus – so don’t put their words above the Bible, as they do, as if their words are more important than the early church writers who did see Jesus. 1
Keep the Gospel Pure
It is paramount that Christians keep their Christian beliefs Gospel pure. If we add traditions of man, and supposed new revelations, plus words of angels, or popular beliefs of the world… then we’ve left the fold! Test for what may have been changed, what came from puny mere humans.
1 Thessalonians 2:13…“not as the word of [mere] men“
“And we also thank God continually for this, that when you received the word of God [concerning salvation] which you heard from us, you welcomed it not as the word of [mere] men, but as it truly is, the word of God, which is effectually at work in you who believe [exercising its inherent, supernatural power in those of faith]”
Excerpt from: Changing what God started
What are the ramifications of changing something? It’s like:
-
- If I start out with 100% cows milk, and then add chocolate to it, I then no longer have 100% milk! Simple, right? I have a totally different drink, which we call by a different name: chocolate milk. It is not milk any more! It is chocolate milk.

- If I start out with 100% Hydrogen, and then add oxygen and more Hydrogen, then I no longer have 100% Hydrogen – do I? I have a totally different element. I have changed the equation. I have left plain hydrogen, and now have “another element”, which we know as H2O. It is now called “Water”… something totally distinct from plain old Hydrogen.

Different make-up. Different element.
False teachers, like NAR type leaders, continue to use the name “Christian” even though they have become “a different element”. They do this because they are deceivers.
– Source: Changing what God started
Do you think that you can join Jesus by following someone other than Jesus? Jesus left His words of instruction for us. Why would anyone add to what the Godman Himself said?
Spiritual leaders of His day came to criticize Jesus. In Mark 7 we’re told:
“the Pharisees and scribes asked Jesus, “Why do Your disciples not live their lives according to the tradition of the elders” – Mark 7:5
“3([a]For the Pharisees and all of the Jews… 4…they [c]cleanse themselves [completely according to ritual]; and there are many other things [oral, man-made laws and traditions handed down to them] which they follow diligently…. – Mark 7:3-4
The clear teaching of Jesus in response was
“…so you nullify the [authority of the] word of God [acting as if it did not apply] because of your tradition which you have handed down [through the elders]. And you do many things such as that.”
– Mark 7:13
This CEV version puts it strongly: “And you ignore God’s commands in order to follow your own teaching. You do a lot of other things just as bad.”
They have changed their religion
Many innocent-looking churches in these End Times “do many things such as that” and thus incur the Wrath of God. NAR-type leaders, Mormons, JWs, and other offshoots “nullify the [authority of the] word of God acting as if it did not apply”.
Are you one of those who “ignore God’s commands in order to follow your own teaching”? Sad thing. Salvation comes straight from Jesus, “according to knowledge“. What “knowledge” is your faith based upon? Is it the “saving knowledge” of Jesus?
Romans 10:2
“For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.”
God is against them for that. They are so dull… they don’t even realize that they have changed what God started. Imagine their surprise, shock and horror – arriving in Hell instead of Heaven.
“Are you still so dull
[and unable to
put things together]?”
– Matthew 15:16
Jesus changed the religion of the Jews, so to speak, and they rejected Him as Messiah. What He did was: Jesus fulfilled Judaism.
Jesus, the Son of God, “created” the Christian faith, His Gospel His “good news”. If someone changes THAT, His Gospel then they no longer have the real Gospel of Jesus Christ. Makes sense to me. Salvation makes sense.
“All of them” 1 John 2:19 NASB have gone out from Jesus… to another gospel – a different belief. “None of them are of us“:
“None of them are of us“
1 John 2:19 AMP They went out from us [seeming at first to be Christians], but they were not really of us [because they were not truly born again and spiritually transformed]; for if they had been of us, they would have remained with us; but they went out [teaching false doctrine], so that it would be clearly shown that none of them are of us.
God never changes. So, we must not change His Gospel, His “good news”. We must not change the New Covenant of Jesus.
There is no other saving Gospel
The NAR-types have changed God’s Way. But then we must realize their gospel is corrupted… changed into some other element. And they therefore have no salvation. Like most Catholics, most NARer people have put their hope in false teachers – a gospel that does not save.
Excerpt from: The “once for all” faith handed down – COMING SOON
True Christianity
“The sum of Christian belief” Jude 1:3 is what Jesus hand-delivered to His followers. It is not THAT plus what people are adding to it…and calling it Christianity.
Jude 1:3 “Beloved, while I was making every effort to write you about our common salvation, I was compelled to write to you [urgently] appealing that you fight strenuously for [the defense of] the faith which was once for all handed down to the saints [the faith that is the sum of Christian belief that was given verbally to believers].”
If we add to it, take out, twist it, re-interpret, have an angel tell us differently — then we begin to follow a different gospel. Our altered reality becomes “apostate“.
Acts 13:39
“…and through Him everyone who believes [who acknowledges Jesus as Lord and Savior and follows Him] is justified and declared free of guilt from all things, from which you could not be justified and freed of guilt through the Law of Moses.
Jesus saves sinners 1 Peter 3:18 CEB. There is salvation for all eternity — in no other. Nobody saves but Jesus. Only Jesus. The Bible is quite clear on that.
See in one link AMP or: Acts 4:12 all versions, Romans 6:4-7 AMP, Colossians 3:1-4 NASB
That is why the Bible warns us to follow Jesus only:
Pure Gospel – nothing added, nothing taken out
– 1 Thessalonians 2:13…“not as the word of [mere] men“
Excerpt from Believing eyewitness witnesses
John tells us,
“9 We believe men who witness in our courts, and so surely we can believe whatever God declares. And God declares that Jesus is his Son.” – 1 John 5:9
John goes on to say,
“10 All who believe this know in their hearts that it is true. If anyone doesn’t believe this, he is actually calling God a liar because he doesn’t believe what God has said about his Son.” – 1 John 5:10
The question for all is: Do you believe “what God has said about his Son”?
God’s exact expectations
The Bible is full of “saving knowledge” passages. From them we learn what God specifically wants, what He has told us about salvation. This salvation plan started before the foundation of the world!
Don’t get caught-up in what does not work for salvation. Get yourself out of that – and follow the Bible explicitly.
John 3:11-18 NIV and 1 Corinthians 1:17-25 Living Bible (in one link) share that it is the love of God for us that brings us to salvation.
“Christ is the mighty power of God
to save them;
Christ himself is
the center of God’s wise plan
for their salvation.”
– Verse 24 of 1 Corinthians 1:17-25
We are saved by God or not – by our response: fully believing, or not fully believing. Here are some “saving knowledge” verses that spell it out clearly.
Here are the pure Gospel verses – nothing added, nothing taken out:

1 John 5:13
“These things I have written
to you who believe
in the name of the Son of God
[which represents
all that Jesus Christ is and does],
so that you will know
[with settled and absolute knowledge]
that you [already] have eternal life.”
These “these things” John writes – are the message all Christians should strickly adhere to, believe, and share with others. We have come to believe — because the message from God was written by faithful eyewitness witnesses like John.
False teachers nowadays are all over the place. They have changed Jesus’ pure message. And many are being fooled by their false gospel.
John here (and others elsewhere in the Bible) is clarifying that to “believe” in Jesus for salvation – is a specific type of believing. To get truly saved, you don’t get to accept the “whatever” of what mere men make-up. We must accept the whatever of “whatever God declares” 1 John 5:9.
This totally encompassing belief “represents all that Jesus Christ is and does“. Nothing less. Nothing more. THAT is what Jesus asks us to accept.

Acts 17:30-31 AMP
“…He commands all people everywhere
to repent
[that is, to change their old way of thinking,
to regret their past sins, and
to seek God’s purpose for their lives],
31 because He has set a day
when He will judge the inhabited world
in righteousness
by a Man whom He has appointed
and destined for that task, and
He has provided credible proof
to everyone
by raising Him from the dead.”
Excerpt from: This is salvation in Christ
It’s a very simple message from God, actually – what He expects of us. His message is to all of us — us sinful, willful, rebellious, self-centered creatures.
*Read: 1 Corinthians 1:17-25 “…he stepped in and saved all those who believed his message, which the world calls foolish and silly.”
Salvation’s Pure Gospel Verses________
Ephesians 2:8
“8For it is by grace [God’s remarkable compassion and favor drawing you to Christ] that you have been saved [actually delivered from judgment and given eternal life] through faith. And this [salvation] is not of yourselves [not through your own effort], but it is the [undeserved, gracious] gift of God….”
If you were sincere and honest when you approached God in confession – it happened, on the spot. God saved you.
*Notice the past tense in Ephesians 2:8: “you have been saved“.
*Also see this past tense in 1 John 5:13: “…that you [already] have eternal life.”
*And again, the past tense in Philippians 3:12 —
“…for which Christ Jesus took hold of me and made me His own.”

Acts 13:39
“…and through Him everyone who believes [who acknowledges Jesus as Lord and Savior and follows Him] is justified and declared free of guilt from all things”
Note the verb tense: “is” justified and declared free of guilt. Present tense. In that moment, you are declared free by God the Foregiver. In the slang: “You is, I is, we all is!” Take Him at His Word. It happened.
Salvation is immediate – not delayed until after enduring to the end. God knows your heart in that moment. Actually, He is omniscient all knowing. There is nothing hidden from Him.
He rejects those who are dubious, and accepts those who come to Him with a sincere and honest heart. Don’t be a dubious dub MerWeb: dub.
Have you always assumed Jesus accepted your confession? Your confession of faith can be effective, or you can make it ineffective.
From the womb we are all in the same boat. And the boat is sinking:

Romans 3:23 NKJ – for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
Romans 3:10 NKJ – As it is written: “There is none righteous, no, not one.
Romans 5:12 NKJ – Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned….
Romans 6:23 NKJV – For the wages of sin [is] death, but the gift of God [is] eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
The Boat is going down
Except through salvation in Christ – there is no escaping the condemnation of Omnipotent God. Are you still captive under God’s condemnation or freed from it – forever?
Warning: The Word of this Judge is final. You are either Legally Damned -or- Legally Forgiven.

1 John 1:5-6
“5 This is the message [of God’s promised revelation] which we have heard from Him and now announce to you, that God is Light [He is holy, His message is truthful, He is perfect in righteousness], and in Him there is no darkness at all [no sin, no wickedness, no imperfection].
6 If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness [of sin], we lie and do not practice the truth”
Do you “practice the truth” and “have fellowship with Him”? Or do you say one thing and practice another, “say [you ]have fellowship with Him” yet “walk in the darkness [of sin]” and “lie and do not practice the truth”?
Is your light actually darkness? According to Scripture, Hell is where darkness belongs. Hell is called “the outer darkness”.
We reap what we sow Galatians 6:7. There is not a chance in Hell to change your final destination. There you stay.
Upon arrival there, you have that sudden flash of realization saying “Oh Damn!” So don’t go there. Escape before you arrive! Get saved now. No second chances.
There is no joy being God Damned… only the ultra extreme unresolvable horror upon arrival for God’s condemnation.
“forever damned
forever without God
without joy
without happiness
devoid of God’s goodness….”
– Source: Being God Damned
Allow God to remove your darkness forever. Darkness is the evil that lurks inside the heart of the unRedeemed. Understand God’s definition of that deep, dank, darkness. You think you can take that with you into Heaven? Think again.

James 2:10
“10 For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles in one point, he has become guilty of all.”
Like the rich young ruler – many stumble “in one point”. Jesus told this man, “One thing you lack.”

Are you en route, already declared “set free”!? Freed from a righteous “God Damn”? Are you looking for that day when He takes you home?
Or not? What else, for you, is so important? Why would you neglect so great a salvation in Christ and refuse the offer of such a great and gracious, awesome God?

Salvation’s Pure Gospel Verses________
John 14:15 and Romans 6:16. See these two in one link.
John 14:15 15 “If you [really] love Me, you will keep and obey My commandments.”
Romans 6:16 16 “Do you not know that when you continually offer yourselves to someone to do his will, you are the slaves of the one whom you obey, either [slaves] of sin, which leads to death, or of obedience, which leads to righteousness (right standing with God)?”
To follow Christ is to…obey God.
The Way to Salvation always involves obedience to Jesus
Obedience, being a righteous person, being pleasing to God — do not save anyone. But it is the natural result of actual salvation.
Through His Holy Spirit in us, we can be pleasing to God, be a righteous person – obey what He had written down for us in the Bible.
Little by little I have been matching-up the desires of my heart — to be the desires of what God desires. My worldview is more and more matching-up to God’s view. See: 2 Corinthians 5:6-10. Does your worldview reflect this verse?
Pushed to conform
With so much evil growing, it is getting more and more difficult to think like God thinks. In these End Days, or, as Jesus put it in Matthew 24:14 “…and then the end 3“…We are being pushed to conform our thinking to the way of the world.

I aim for straight-out righteous!

Genesis 4:7 and Philippians 3:12
In Genesis 4:7 we learn how sin lurks in the heart:
“And the Lord said to Cain, “Why are you so angry? And why do you look annoyed?
7 If you do well [believing Me and doing what is acceptable and pleasing to Me], will you not be accepted?
And if you do not do well [but ignore My instruction], sin crouches at your door; its desire is for you [to overpower you], but you must master it.”
…Cain [d]attacked Abel his brother and killed him. – Genesis 4:8
I have failed miserably in the past. I have not killed my brother (yet!), but sin is persistent in this Temp Body and temporary existence.
Sin is always “lurking at the door”.
But I “actively press on” to be more Christlike. I make it a point daily to have a moment with the Lord to… confess, repent, reject sin – and press on. As Paul famously said in Philippians 3:12 –
“Not that I have already obtained it [this goal of being Christlike] or have already been made perfect, but I actively press on [a]so that I may take hold of that [perfection] for which Christ Jesus took hold of me and made me His own.”
– Philippians 3:12
Dealing with sin…
Confess – Repent – Reject – Press on

John 3:16 and John 3:17-18
John 3:16 16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.”
John 3:17-18 The Message (MSG) “16-18 “This is how much God loved the world: He gave his Son, his one and only Son. And this is why: so that no one need be destroyed; by believing in him, anyone can have a whole and lasting life.”
“God didn’t go to all the trouble of sending his Son merely to point an accusing finger, telling the world how bad it was. He came to help, to put the world right again. Anyone who trusts in him is acquitted; anyone who refuses to trust him has long since been under the death sentence without knowing it. And why? Because of that person’s failure to believe in the one-of-a-kind Son of God when introduced to him.”
Salvation’s Pure Gospel Verses________
John 14:6 and Acts 4:12
John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.”
Acts 4:12 “And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved.”
Jesus claimed to be God. He Himself said, “I am the Way….” John 14:6 There is no other way to get into Heaven. We must follow what Jesus said John 14:6 and Matthew 4:10.
Salvation’s Pure Gospel Verses________
John 10:27-30 “27 The sheep that are My own hear My voice and listen to Me; I know them, and they follow Me.
“28 And I give them eternal life, and they will never, ever [by any means] perish; and no one will ever snatch them out of My hand. 29 [a]My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater and mightier than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand. 30 I and the Father are One [in essence and nature].”
And.. they follow Me. The sheep of His pasture…follow. The sheep of another fold…do not hear nor listen nor follow Jesus.

Luke 9:23 and Romans 10:9
Luke 9:23
“And He was saying to them all, “If anyone wishes to follow Me [as My disciple], he must deny himself [set aside selfish interests], and take up his cross daily [expressing a willingness to endure whatever may come] and follow Me [believing in Me, conforming to My example in living and, if need be, suffering or perhaps dying because of faith in Me].”
Romans 10:9
“…if you confess
with your mouth
Jesus as Lord,
and believe in your heart
that God raised Him from the dead,
you will be saved….”
(or read in context: Romans 10:9-13)

My take on Luke 9:23 — Salvation by Jesus requires this… “and follow Me“
My take on Luke 9:23 is that it plainly speaks of the requirements of salvation. Basically Jesus was saying …If anyone wants to come with Me to my Holy Kingdom Heaven, then their salvation “must” entail the following. According to the verse, this is not optional. You “must” :
-
- Deny yourself [set aside selfish interests], and
- Take up his cross daily [expressing a willingness to endure whatever may come] and
- Follow Me [believing in Me,
- Conform to My example in living and,
- If need be, suffer or perhaps die because of faith in Me]. Or as the WE puts it: “Every day he must take up his cross [be ready to die]”.
Scripture does not teach we can merely give mental assent to “a belief” in Jesus… in order to be saved, like say, “Yes that’s true”. Lucifer the Devil “believes” that way!
See these two sections inside the original article What saves you:
* Believing in Jesus like Lucifer the Devil “believes”.

“He did not say – come however, any way, all faiths, just have faith, just grace alone, just words alone.”

Salvation’s Pure Gospel Verses________
Romans 10:8-13 NASB
“8 But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart”—that is, the word of faith which we are preaching,
9 [a]that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved;
10 for with the heart a person believes, [b]resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, [c]resulting in salvation. 11 For the Scripture says,
“Whoever believes in Him will not be [d]put to shame.” 12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, abounding in riches for all who call on Him;
13 for “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
Conclusion
Those are the major salvation passages God purposely had written for us – to know His Way of Salvation – and be saved. They are all over both the Old and the New Testaments.
Salvation is awesomely simple: Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord. Confess your sins to God. Repent. Reject your sins. Ask God to save you. And follow Him.
Get saved! Salvation is forever Romans 8: 37-39. God secures it for us.
FOR MORE:
Believing, in the biblical sense, is accepting “all that Jesus Christ is and does“. If we want Jesus, then we want a pure way to go to Him. Here are the pure Gospel verses – nothing added, nothing taken out. These show us the Way of Salvation. Jesus urges us to follow Him and no other.

The Mystery of the Gospel has been revealed
Back in the day…Salvation was a Mystery Excerpt: The mystery of salvation was resolved in Jesus the Messiah. With Him, no longer were many sacrifices necessary. Jesus was the perfect sacrifice. All peoples could receive the forgiveness of God for their sins “once for all” (Hebrews 10:10).
Have you been “washed in the blood of the Lamb” – through the death and resurrection of Jesus?
“Whosoever will may come”
Salvation is easy because Jesus took our pain. He took away the wrath of God on sin. He took away our condemnation. Jesus came down to earth as a man in order to pay the price of sin in God’s system of justice.
God asks us to repent and turn from sinning. Where are you at with this?

Saving Knowledge Excerpt: There is a saving knowledge of Christ, and there is a false knowledge about Christ. One connects you to God and saves you. The other does not lead to Creator God. Do you know the difference?
Which type of knowledge do you have? Do you know the difference between the two? Can you discern between what the Bible teaches is the “saving” type, and the “not-so-saving” type of knowledge of Christ?
What God Wants
God wants to save us from His condemnation of sin. So God sent His only Son into this world – as the man Christ Jesus. Christ was sacrificed on our behalf as a perfect sacrifice to legally take away the sin judgement of everyone who accepts that salvation.
Are you all in with that? From the throne of your life — have you made Christ your Lord and Savior?
God’s Way brings us into His Kingdom – in an instant (immediately!). Are you there yet?

There is no other saving Gospel…a study of Galatians 1:6-9 Excerpt: What “gospel” are you into? The Bible says there is no other gospel that saves us for all eternity – except the original Gospel of the early church apostles. None. “Ninguna”.
Are you in an apostate church? Do you really want to go there? They have changed the Gospel into their own distorted gospel. Theirs is very different from the Bible’s. And only the Bible Gospel saves. Do you really want a not-saving faith?
Apostate means following a gospel that is different (v6) from what the apostles taught (Paul, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John) – what is so very clearly taught in the New Testament. They take you to a different Jesus. They “distort the gospel of Christ” (v7).
The apostate gospel does not save you from hell. What on earth are you doing there?!

God’s work of salvation was done by Jesus when He came down to earth: when He became the Godman, when He died on the cross, when He was buried, when He arose from the tomb, when He ascended back up into Heaven.

Counterfeit spirit of God Excerpt: Counterfeit Christianity is growing. Do you know the Bible well enough to spot a counterfeit church? Are you into one – yourself?
The Bible warns of “seducing spirits” within the church “in later times“. It warns about those church leaders who teach and delve into non-biblical practices.
*Quote from the main article: “Jesus, the Son of God, “created” the Christian faith, His Gospel His “good news”. If someone changes THAT, then they no longer have the Gospel of Jesus Christ.”

First, the most dastardly, insidious mark of a cult is that it ignores or distorts the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Second, most cults are led by a dynamic, charismatic leader who eventually controls and manipulates his or her followers.
Third, surprisingly, most cult leaders grew up in a Christian environment.
Fourth, cult leaders tend to ignore, confuse, add to, and/or demean the Bible’s teachings.
Fifth, cults use devious methods to trap, deceive, and control their followers.
Sixth, people join cults for a number of reasons: 2 Timothy 4:3-4, Ephesians 4:14.
